Nōson Park (Fujiyoshida City)
Just in front of Mt. Fuji, Nōson Park is surrounded by
rice fields and brooks. There, you can enjoy landscapes
that remain just like they were in the old days. It is a

Lake Asumi (Fujiyoshida City)
One of the lakes that form Fuji Hakkai, this is the place
where the purification ceremony of one of the Mt. Fuji
pilgrims once took place. Lotus flowers bloom in the
whole surface of the lake, which is also known as the
Lotus Pond by the locals.

Tarō Jirō Falls (Tsuru City)
Selected as one of the 100 best waters from the Heisei
Period, these waterfalls are part of the Tokaichiba /
Natsugari Natural Springs. The scenery with a 20 m high
fall is astonishing, and water trickles from the rock wall
in the road that leads to the main waterfall.

Tahara Waterfall (Tsuru City)
A long time ago, during his sojourn in Tsuru city, Matsuo
Basho dedicated a poem to Tahara Waterfall, where, in
spring, fishes happily swim in the fresh water formed by
the melted snow from the top of Mt. Fuji. The clean
waters of Katsura River hitting the waterfall basin with
great force is a must see.

Ochiai Water Bridge (Tsuru City)
Built in 1907 by the Tokyo Dento (actual TEPCO) to send
water to Komahashi Power Plant for power generation,
the Ochiai Water Bridge is a Registered Tangible
Cultural Property, and nowadays it is still used as an
aqueduct.

Nishizawa Gorge
(Yamanashi City)
One of the 100 best water sources of the Heisei Period,
Nishizawa Gorge was also elected as one of the 100
famous forests with water sources. In the trail along the
gorge you can see many waterfalls, from smaller to bigger
ones, with the Nanatsu Godan Waterfall being the most
famous one.

Dondokozawa Goshikigataki (Nirasaki City)
In Dondokozawa, located in the middle of the trail that
leads to Mt. Hōō, you can find four big waterfalls.
Goshikigataki Waterfall, in the most upstream part, gets

Wanidzuka Cherry Tree and Rice Fields (Nirasaki City)
A place full of legends, it is home to an ancient imperial
grave shaped like a keyhole, the grave of Takeda no Kimi.
In spring, the 320 years old Edohiganzakura cherry tree
blooms in full splendor.

Two large rivers run in Nirasaki City: Kamanashigawa
and Shiogawa. Both flow in the same direction, and from
the point they merge together their name change to
Fujikawa River, that runs in direction of Shizuoka
Prefecture. In the middle of June, during the ayu
(sweetfish) fishing season, the area receives many

Sanbuichi Yusui (Hokuto City)
According to the legend, Takeda Shingen used a pillar
stone to divide the welling of water in three parts. It is
one of the natural springs located in the highland on
Yatsugatake’s southern foot.

Doryu Falls and Kawamatagawa Valley (Hokuto City)
The name Doryu no Taki, literally meaning “falls from
the dragon’s breath”, was given to this waterfall due to
the mysterious atmosphere created by the water falling
down in thin lines, similar to cotton yarn. The
Kawamatagawa River gets especially beautiful in
Autumn, with the red leaves, and in Summer, when the

The rice terrace that spread in Kamezawa region is
known as the most beautiful in Kanto area due to its
scale and scenery (one thousand rice paddies). The Rice
Terrace Candle Festival is held every year in June.

Shingen Tsutsumi was built in the Kamanashi River by
the Lord Takeda Shingen in order to prevent flooding.
You can enjoy the cherry blossom flowers and Japanese

the adjacent Shingen Tsutsumi Park.

Hagoromo Shiraito Waterfall (Hayakawa Town)
In Edo Period, when women were not allowed in Mt.
Shichimen, it is said that Oman no Kata, the concubine of
Tokugawa Ieyasu, went to this waterfall to purify herself,
putting an end to the prohibition.

Oyanagawa Gorge

In Oyanagawa Gorge, you can see the unique Ryusenkyo
Bridge, one of the few in the country built in a shape
similar to the Japanese character “ku” ( く ), and the
