Primary and Community Care NursesPractice nurses work in GP surgeries as part of the primary healthcare team. In larger practices, there may be several practice nurses sharing duties and responsibilities while in others, they might be work on their own, taking on many roles.

Commissioners‘Commissioners’ include Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) board members, CSU personnel, NHS England staff and Health and Wellbeing Board members.

CCGs are (predominantly) groups of GPs that are responsible for planning and designing local health services in England. They do this by ‘commissioning’ or buying health and care services including:• Plannedhospitalcare• Urgentandemergencycare• Rehabilitationcare• Communityhealthservices• Mentalhealthandlearningdisabilityservices

They are overseen by NHS England at a national level. NHS England is a new body that ensures that Clinical Commissioning groups have the capacity and capability to successfully commission services for their local population. NHS England will also ensure that the Clinical Commissioning Groups meet their financial responsibilities.

At a local level, new Health and Wellbeing Boards have been set up in Local Authorities to ensure that CCGs meet the needs of local people. Health and Wellbeing Boards will bring together clinical commissioning groups and the local councils to understand the health, social and wellbeing needs of its community.

Practice ManagersPractice Managers deliver both day-to-day management as well as a strategic guidance, for one or more partner medical practices. The exact qualifications and experience required can vary, but a management qualification is common, along with a proven experience of motivating people.

Hospital PharmacistsHospital Pharmacists are experts in the field of medicines.. They work closely with medical and nursing staff on the wards to ensure patients receive the most appropriate treatments, and provide help and advice to patients in all aspects of their medicines. They advise on the selection of medicines as well as the dose and route of administration for individual patients, and many are qualified to prescribe in their own right. They provide information about potential side effects and ensure that new medicines are compatible with any existing medication. In addition, they will often monitor the effects of treatment to ensure that it is safe and effective.

Hospital ManagersOur Hospital Healthcare Europe community includes the Chief Executives andDepartmental Directors of private sector hospitals in the UK and European Union. Specifically, this community includes: Chief Information Officers, Facilities Directors, Chief Radiologists, Chief Cardiologists, Clinical Nursing Directors, Chief Pathologists, Chief Pharmacists, Formulary Directors and Chief Surgeons.
