WHEN HIS TRAILER WAS SOLD AND

HE WAS FORCED TO LIVE OUT OF HIS CAR,

HIS ASPIRATIONS DID NOT DIM.

JIMMIE ALLENJimmie Allen’s passion for music has always been there. He performed his

first song at age seven and taught himself the drums, keyboard and guitar

without any formal training. In the sixth grade, he formed his first band.

Jimmie moved to Nashville, Tennessee from his hometown in Delaware

after high school to pursue his dream, where he lived in a rented trailer and

searched for a full time job. When his trailer was sold and he was forced to

live out of his car, his aspirations did not dim. Instead, he worked several

odd jobs to stay in Nashville. Eventually Jimmie met a fellow musician

who recognized his ambition and made it a point to motivate him. Jimmie

maintains that this person’s motivation was what enabled him to focus

tirelessly on his music, especially during the less glamorous years.

In 2011, Jimmie lost a bet with a friend, the conditions being that he would

audition for American Idol Season 10 if he lost. Jimmie ended up being

voted into the top 40 contestants on American Idol Season 10, and chosen

as one of eight contestants to participate in the Idols of America Tour in

Japan, a three-week tour of military installations in the Pacific.

Since the tour, Jimmie’s musical career has been rewarding and has allowed

him to showcase his personal sound.

NATE WOODALLNate Woodall is a guitarist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Indiana and raised in Kentucky. He is the second oldest of seven children and was raised in a family of musicians, where his natural talents were quickly cultivated.

Thinking he should probably get a “real job” after college, Nate moved to LA to work at Interscope Records. After some time he felt sure that his skills lay on the other side of the industry: the creative side. Nate made the decision to leave Interscope Records in 2004, and focus on his craft.

Nate moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2007 to focus solely on his music. His versatility and willingness to serve the song led him to opportunities in which he has composed for national TV shows, toured the world as lead guitarist for the Idols of America Tour in Japan and in Europe, and completed numerous shows, tours and recordings with a variety of artists across all music genres.

A guitarist of melody and texture, Nate has a feel for what will move a listener. His compositions are emotive and sophisticated.

“My style and taste are a bit eclectic. Sometimes I might try to channel Prince or Hendrix and later in the same song play something influenced by David Gilmour or Mark Knopfler.”

COLOUR OF LONDON“As shady as it sounds, we met on Craigslist,” explains Nate, who responded to an ad posted by Jimmie some time in 2009. They spoke on the phone briefly about Jimmie’s search for a guitar player.

“But there was a bit of divine intervention involved,” Later that week, Jimmie and Nate happened to meet on the set of a television show. They were introduced as strangers, realized the coincidence and quickly became friends.

The two started out playing Jimmie’s solo material at shows and writer’s rounds in Nashville. In the studio, Nate would play guitar on Jimmie’s tracks; naturally they began writing music together. After awhile it was clear that there was a shared vision. Both had moved to Nashville as individual musicians in serious pursuit of their careers, and they decided to move in that direction together.

“Some time around September or October of 2012, we had the realization that we were the creative core of Colour of London and had to move forward as a duo. Then we sat down and watched Will Smith’s “Just the Two of Us” over and over on Youtube. No, we didn’t.” -Nate Woodall
