ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I am using this opportunity to express my gratitude to

everyone who supported me throughout the course of this B. Tech final year project. I am thankful for their aspiring guidance, invaluably constructive criticism and friendly advice during the project work. I am sincerely grateful to them for sharing their truthful and illuminating views on a number of issues related to the project.

I express my warm thanks to Mr. Amit Kumar Yadav for his support and guidance.

I would also like to thank my project guide Mr. Rameez Khan and Mr. Mohd. Asgar and all the people who provided me with the facilities being required and conductive conditions for my project.

INTRODUCTIONThe first step in the project was to

understand the existing products, market conditions and the need for such a device. A quick market study was conducted to gather information about international brands, local brands, the economic dynamics of the product in the country.

Page 4: col

A compilation of the models available in India, and those imported were done to assimilate the overall scenario This revealed some very interesting facts about the pros and cons of existing products. It also gave an insight into the target price brackets and expectation levels of the user. Also products like tricycles, scooters, modified cars etc were considered in the study to make a connective evaluation of the need and how it was fulfilled till now.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

It offers mobility hand controls for the disabled which is very easy to get used to. It includes-:

Hand operated accelerator and brakes.

Automatic clutch system.

BATTERY EQUIPPEDThe battery used is lead-acid

battery with life of 6–12 months.

The cost is added due to battery (Lead Acid battery) which costs estimated Rs.17000-22000.

BRAKING SYSTEMThe braking system is very poor with only

front brakes. Thus when going downhill at high speeds sudden.

Braking produces a catapult effect. The seating arrangement is very uncomfortable and the

Aerodynamic drag of the system is very high. It is therefore uncomfortable to ride and

Humanly degrading to pull the existing inefficient rickshaw. Nevertheless in cities for short

ChassisWe are building over tubular

chassis, body is kept light in weight in order to increase life of the battery, the main electronic components that make the drive are motor, controller, harness, batteries and the throttle. The mismatch between any of these components is undesirable and may reduce performance.

Page 13: col

Low weight of body is desirable, which can be done by good designing, ensuring quality check, using material such as F.R.P, aluminum, composite materials and low density metals. A very good alternative is F.R.P which is strong, non conducting, cheap, light weight , highly durable, resistant to fire, withstands weather and is easily repaired in case of damage. The body is attached to chassis by the means of bolts, in some cases welded, which is not recommended.

CONCLUSIONAs there are many disabled

people around the world who cannot walk due to a reason or other, this vehicle will help them achieve what they have dreamt of it is of great practical use and significance.
