The Colad Group would like to express its commitment to being certified with two excellent organizations. The Forest Stewardship Council (“FSC”) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (“SFI”) are two of the world’s leading sustainable forestry certification programs.
The Forestry Stewardship Council ensures that all FSC-certified forest products come from responsibly managed forests and verified recycled sources. FSC-certified products contain forest products that are managed by a strict set of environmental and social standards. These standards are created by representatives from environmental, social and management groups across the world, through global cooperation. The wood and pulp fibers harvested from FSC-certified forest products are tracked from certified forests to converters and ultimately to the consumer. As a company certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council, The Colad Group will be an integral link in this chain-of-custody process that ensures sound environmental practices.
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. The standards set up by the SFI address both environmental and silvicultural issues and are based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. SFI regulations are supported and promoted by program participants to further educate and train involved parties in the Forestry, Wood and Paper industries. SFI chain-of-custody certification extends into the marketplace by tracking fiber content from certified lands through production and manufacturing to the end product. Consumers who buy products with the SFI “percent-content” label know they are buying assurance of well-managed forests.
The Colad Group pledges to abide by the terms of agreement of the Forest Stewardship Council and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. We will continue to promote and support the development of better forestry practices developed by both of these leading organizations. Please join us in our effort to protect our world!
Sincerely,
J. Todd AnsonPresident

Not all companies can supply FSC or SFI certified papers. The chain of custody requires every company that works with FSC or SFI stock be certified by an independent, third-party agency to ensure their compliance with the rigorous standards set by FSC and SFI. If the company offering certified stocks is NOT certified, then the chain of custody is broken, and you have no assurance that you are getting the environmentally responsible material that you demand.
Colad is certified with both FSC and SFI and we offer many products made using FSC, SFI, and recycled paperboard, chipboard, corrugated, and litho stocks. We can source a wide variety of FSC and SFI certified substrates to give you the product you want while maintaining the chain of custody. By partnering with Colad to put the FSC or SFI label on your product, you can demonstrate to your customers that your company is a good steward of the environment and that you support ecologically sound forest management practices.
About the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
FSC is the fastest growing forest certification system in the world, driven by a demand for FSC certified timber and non-timber forest products. As of April 2008, more than 100 million hectares of forest worldwide were certified to FSC standards, distributed over 79 countries. Only 7% of the world’s productive forests are FSC certified.

About the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)
SFI is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. SFI works with
conservation groups, local communities, resource professionals, landowners, and countless other organizations and individuals who
share the passion for responsible forest management.
SFI’s Board of Directors represents environmental, social and economic interests equally, and addresses local needs through a
unique grassroots network of SFI Implementation Committees.
SFI’s forest certification standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to
protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. The standard is
used widely across North America, and has strong acceptance in the global marketplace so SFI can deliver a steady supply of third-party
certified wood from well-managed forests. This is especially important because of the growing demand for green building and
responsible paper purchasing at a time when only 10% of the world’s forests are certified.
The SFI label is a sign you are buying wood and paper products from well-managed forests, backed by a rigorous third-party
certification audit.

We make every effort to purchase our renewable resources from companies that think and act like we do!
