Representative Engagements

California Coalition for Families and Children v. San Diego County Bar Association: Civil Rights/RICO litigation adverse to the California divorce industry. Representation of parents’ and children's rights organization in complex civil rights, racketeering, unfair competition, Lanham Act litigation to vindicate parental civil rights and reform racketeering practices of the divorce industry, family court judges, consultants, lawyers, and judicial administrators. The case is on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

M.G.M. v. Grokster: Representation of peer-to-peer technology company StreamCast Networks in groundbreaking copyright litigation. Case resolved favorably at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, but reversed at the United States Supreme Court when the high court invented an “inducement” theory not previously recognized at law, holding my clients liable in the first case of its kind. Microsoft v. Lindows: Representation of Lindows, Inc., a Linux operating system software company in challenge to Microsoft Corporation’s WINDOWS trademark. Established that the WINDOWS mark is "generic.” My client’s case resolved favorably with Microsoft paying Lindows $20 million to change its name. Oakley v. Sunglass Hut: Representation of Luxotica, SPA, the world's largest sunglass manufacturer, in patent infringement litigation case involving optics technology. My client’s case resolved favorably after appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
