Selection frameworkThis call for projects aims to promote and support project leaders around the Mediterranean region who develop innovative solutions related to sustainable development issues in the field of climate transition territories, apprehended in his double dimension: mitigation and adaptation.This competition will allow the selected candidates to test in size their solutions projects and facilitate their deployment in the Mediterranean territories. It must also highlight the common constraints and challenges of territories in which local resources (biodiversity, land and food resources, water, and energy) are particularly threatened by the multiple climatic and environmental pressures and the socio-economic impacts which ensue from it.

The projects can be supported by companies, local authorities, associations, academic structures. They must be proposed in the framework of a partnership including at least two countries of the Mediterranean and be conceived as duplicable in other countries of the Mediterranean.

Particularly concerned are solutions that rely either on particularly innovative technologies including digital (smart city), or conversely on "low technologies" allowing to rediscover and to value traditional solutions well suited to certain rural areas and to ensure the inclusion of all territories in the transition dynamics.

In terms of themes, but without exclusivity, more particularly expected projects that have a strong impact on the fight against climate change and the quality of life of populations and recovering for example :

• Renewable energies and energy efficiency, resource management in water or waste, as well as, for example, the combination of energy efficiency using renewable energies and efficient management of the water or the waste;

• Sustainable satisfaction of food needs; sustainable agriculture;

• Access to the health with regard to the distribution of pathologies generated by climate change.

Projects will be reviewed according to the following criteria, without prioritization:

• The capacity of the applicant;• The relevance of the project;• Technical and financial viability;• The coherence of the project and the partnership;• The methodology;• Sustainability;• The effects• The reproducibility of the project.• The social impact• The economic impact

The people* representing the selected projects will be invited to present their project to the 1st Meeting of the Mediterranean Climate house on December 15th and 16th, 2017.
