CIGA Project Objectives
• To provide an enduring office accommodation solution for the participating agencies in Christchurch
• To optimise the use of office space leased by participating agencies in Christchurch
• To minimise the whole-of-life cost per work point for office accommodation leased by participating agencies in Christchurch
• To improve the flexibility and responsiveness of the Crown’s property portfolio
• Utilise the property solution to better enable agency, sector and All-of-Government business outputs
• To provide and maintain safe standards of buildings for government employees in Christchurch
• To promote the economic recovery and rebuild of the Christchurch CBD
• 9 Agencies
• Ranging from 2 to 240
• 450 work points
• Occupancy being defined during project with some work
point vacancies so expect change
• Common areas open to all occupants
• Optimise meeting rooms and other facilities
Our Challenge
Shared model
• Agencies retain control of their information and policy environment with no application or information consolidation
• Solutions to be used by any agency, following integration, without reconfiguration
• Aligned to AoG architecture utilising common capabilities
• Authentication and Authorisation leveraging existing agency access control
Efficiency
• Agencies leverage existing virtual client systems or mobile devices where available, requiring minimal new investment
• Agencies infrastructure footprint is reduced
• Workpoints are not agency specific meaning staff mobility in the building is enabled
• New tenants, can be configured to utilise the setup for minimal effort, enabling colocation on an ad hoc basis
• Service management through exiting agency processes
Security
• Secure end point device with no residual information storage
• Layered security utilising virtual networking infrastructure and encryption
• Compromise of the building, shared network or end points does not compromise agency information
• Minimise risk by using a secure model currently accredited and in use within NZ Intelligence Community
