• working on wireless networks for 20 years,• focused more on vehicular networks (V2X communication and connected cars) for the
last 10 years.
• took position at Marmara University in November 2012,• formed a research group in Feb. 2013
• Vehicular Networks and Intelligent Transportation SystemsResearch Group (VeNIT-RG), www.venit.org
• cofounded a lab• Machine Intelligence, Design & Networking Lab (MInD-NET)www.mind-net.org
• started to make academic and industrial projects on• wireless networks,• machine learning and artificial intelligence• integration and use of ML/AI in wireless networks and communications

• close cooperation with the Industry
• actively participated in the clusters
• 5GTR Forum (Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure & BTK)
• Smart Mobility Clustering (TUBITAK)
• cooperated with both large-scale companies and large SMEs
• proposed nearly 20 TÜBİTAK project proposals in less than 6 years
• However,
• projects remained smaller in scope,
• industry was not ready to take on today and in the near future
• the budget to be allocated by the project partners was limited
• All these led us to new searches for funding
