Nirvāna is a central concept in Indian religions.

In sramanic thought, it is the state of being free from suffering .

In Hindu philosophy, it is the union with the Supreme

being through moksha. The word literally means "blowing out" —

referring, in the Hindu context, to the supreme state free of

suffering and individual existence, and in the Buddhist context, to

the blowing out of the fires of greed, hatred, and delusion.

THE ULTIMATE LIVE SHOW……

By… EUPHORIA….is an Indian rock band from the city of Delhi, India. Their uniquestyle has helped them gain an audience, seen as alternative to the

dominant Indian film or classical music. Euphoria were among the

first to bring rock culture to India. They mixed electric guitar with

traditional instruments like the tabla, dholak and sitar to create

mesmerising effects. The band

lineup has often changed through

the early 1990s, attaining stability

after 1998, until recently, when

guitarist Gaurav Misra (also

known as Gary) parted ways with

the band. It has been reported in

the media, that Gary went off to

settle in Australia.

Dance EventsIf you think you have it in you to set any dance floor ablaze, we

have the perfect setting for you. Leave your body, and let your soul

fly. What with the plethora of categories we offer you, no one will

be left out.

1. Fantisto: The western solo dance contest.

2. Saarang: The classical solo dance competition.

3. Stealers: The western group dance competition.

4. ....on the move: The choreography contest. For those of youwho prefer to plan and execute.



Vocal EventsIf you can sing it, well hear it. You dont have to be good; you just

need to have the spirit, for what is music if not a most beautiful

expression of human spirit itself? It doesnt matter what you sing,

there is something for everyone..1. Alankaar: The competition in vocals in light Indian music.

Candidates are required to sing solo. If you are the next big

thing on the Indian music thing, then this is where you

start.

2. Aaroh - Avroh: A group event in Light Indian Vocals.

Participants can sing in any Indian language.

3. Malhaar: The classical Indian solo vocals contest.

4. Canorus: The western solo vocals competition.5. Aria: The western group vocals competition.

InstrumentalsA high adrenaline event for all the music lovers. You dont have to

be good; you just need to have the spirit, for what is music if not a

most beautiful expression of human spirit itself? It doesnt matter

what you play, there is something for everyone.

Symphony: Candidates are required to play solo western. If youre the next big thing on the instruments, then this is where

you start.

2. Ensemble: A band performance by a group of

instrumentalists and singers. Participants can play any

instrument and sing any western or Indian vocals.

3. Saaz: The classical Indian solo instrumental contest.

Street Event NIRVANA wasnt crazy enough, so we came up with this. Run on

the streets, make yourself heard. Cant shout you say? There is

more to it than just shouting. Draw; cover the asphalt with your

imagination. Dance; let only the winds have more elegant yet

rustic movement than you. Convey the message to the crowd



through Nukkad Naataks. What more you ask? Get rewarded for

doing all this. Surprise yourself with your own insanity.

Dramatics EventsFor the actor, the director, the writer in you. Make them laugh,

make them cry; make them happy, make them sad; make themremember, make them think. You have a variety of options at your

disposal to show us your wares.

1. Chaupati: The skit competition.

2. Pratibimb: The mono-acting competition.

3. Sound of Silence: The mime contest.

4. Funkaar(Mimicry/Comedy)

KavyanjaliGet high on words. The old charming Hindi, cast as a spell by the

word weaving poets, comes to you as a rush of emotions. One

minute you might ponder on graver aspects of life while the very

next you might be in a side splitting laughter .

Do you have a jukebox tucked away in some corner of your brain?

Are you the hidden talent of your locality? Maybe youre just plain

interested in hanging out and hearing people sing. An event wherewe revive the spirit of old Hindi movies.

a. Rang Birangi: The colour painting contest.

b. Grayscale: The painting competition that tests the actual

skills coz the candidates have to bring into play only the twocolours viz. black and white.

c. Sketching: The contest that calls upon the future engineers

and technocrats to test their hands at drawing portrait of some

personality.

d. De Mask Arte: The face painting contest.

e. Alpana: Tell the people how colorful the life is by playing

with the colours in this event of Rangoli.

ensures you can always test yourself on the big stage.

1. Shaastrarth : The debate competition.

o How much is too much for the Censor Board ?

o Should homosexulity be legalizesd ?

o Are Talenl shows bringing up the real talent of India.

o Is world adopting the right strategy to tackle terrorism.

o Is Oscar the best criteria for judging a movie ?

2. Tatkal (JAM) : The impromptu speaking contest for those

with quick wits and sharp tongues.

3. Ad Mad: For the advertising gurus of tomorrow.

4. Treasure Hunt: Calling all the Sherlocks . Well give you

clues, and youll go look for treasure all over the campus.

5. Do You Have It In You? : For those who think they can

walk the walk and talk the talk. Be warned, however you cantwin if youve got the looks of a Barbie doll, and the intellect

of one, too. You have to be made of sterner stuff, and you

may have to sing, dance and recite nursery rhymes while we

decide whether you have it in you or not.



6. Dharohar (Kala Sanskriti Quiz) : For those who have a

deep insight into the Indian culture and heritage. For those

who believe theyve got their facts better than most others,

those who feel they know the most about the most. Also for

those who relish watching a good fight.7. Business Baazigar : An event where candidates will furnish a

unique business strategy and discuss how it is the most

profitable and cost effective.

8. Graffitti (Theme based Graffitti and Lyric writing) : A

theme will be notified and the candidates will have to write a

slogan on that. In the following round theme based Lyric

writing is required.

9. Mobile Mania : Not just simple SMSing anymore. Its a battlefield out there. Well, sending a large number of SMSs

is a common habit among us all. Candidates need to prove

their prowess in the field.

10. Sequel/Prequel writing : Calling all movie freaks.

Participants will be provided with a story, using which theyll

have to write a sequel/ prequel of it.

11. Breaking News : How great a news buff are you? In this

event a theme will be provided and the participants will present breaking news in the most effective way followed by

a live reporting of a given incident.

12. 60 seconds to fame :A potpourri of the various ways of

expression. We give you a theme and some time to think.

You shall be required to present it via poetry, speech, a small

play or anything else you find suitable.

13. Bluffmaster : An event where you can bluff others.

14. Snoop Dogs : An investigative journalism event where

participants try to solve a crime by asking questions in a press conference.

15. Marketing Plan : Its global meltdown time now and this

event calls for practical, innovative and of course profitable

business plans. Win the adulation, the moolah as well as the

prize.



Focus Ekdum Chaukas (The Photography Contest)You just have to bring along a digital camera and capture the right

emotion at the right time. Explore your angle of vision and attitude
