NCAA Division 1 and 2

• Students athletes must register at the NCAA ELIGIBILITY CENTER website and complete the profile and pay the fee.

NCAA Division I Initial Eligibility Requirements

• Core Courses: (16)

• Initial full-time collegiate enrollment before August 1, 2016:

• o Sixteen (16) core courses are required

DIVISION I

Core Course Requirement (16)

4 years of English

3 years of math (Algebra I or higher)

2 years of natural/physical science (1 year of lab if offered)

1 year of additional English, math or natural/physical science

2 years of social science

4 years of additional courses (any area above, foreign language or comparative religion/philosophy

Test Scores: (ACT/SAT)

Students must present a corresponding test score and core-course GPA on the sliding scale (attached).

o SAT: critical reading and math sections.

Best subscore from each section is used to determine the SAT combined score for initial eligibility.

o ACT: English, math, reading and science sections.

Best subscore from each section is used to determine the ACT sum score for initial eligibility.

All ACT and SAT attempts before initial full-time collegiate enrollment may be used for initial eligibility.

Enter 9999 during ACT or SAT registration to ensure the testing agency reports your score directly to the NCAA Eligibility Center. Test scores on transcripts will not be used.

Division II Initial-Eligibility Requirements

• Division II currently requires 16 core courses.

• Division II currently requires a minimum SAT score of 820 or an ACT sum score of 68. The sum score is the total of the 4 sub tests English, Math, Reading and Science.

• The current Division II core GPA requirement is a minimum of 2.000.

Core Grade-Point Average:

Only core courses that appear on the high school's List of NCAA Courses on the NCAA Eligibility Center's

website (www.eligibilitycenter.org) will be used to calculate your core-course GPA. Use this list as a guide.

Initial full-time collegiate enrollment before August 1, 2016:

o Students must present a corresponding test score (ACT sum score or SAT combined score) and core-course GPA (minimum 2.000) on Sliding Scale A (see attached).

o Core-course GPA is calculated using the best 16 core courses that meet subject-area requirements.

NAIA Information Register online at PlayNAIA.org.  • Create an account with a valid email address and pay the one-time

registration fee.

• When a prospective student-athlete takes the ACT or SAT, he/she must specify the code “9876” when registering for the exam in order to have the test scores sent directly to the NAIA Eligibility Center.

TranscriptUpon graduation from high school, prospective student-athlete must ask the high school registrar to send official transcripts to the NAIA Eligibility Center. Official transcripts must be:• Stamped with the official school seal and/or signature, and sent in an official school envelope that is marked by a school official over the seal, showing that a school official was the last person to handle the document.

: Students who finish their junior year with an overall 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale, and have at least an 18 ACT or 860 SAT test score, can receive an early eligibility decision. Those students should request their high school send an official transcript at the end of their junior year.

Students who finish their junior year with an overall 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale, and have at least an 18 ACT or 860 SAT test score, can receive an early eligibility decision. Those students should request their high school send an official transcript at the end of their junior year.

Once the online registration, test scores and final transcript have been received, an NAIA Eligibility Center manager will review the materials and determine eligibility.

Students with an overall 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale at the end of the junior year in high school can receive an early eligibility decision, if they also have scored at least 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT. Make sure you specify the code “9876” when registering for the ACT/SAT, and ask your high school to send an official transcript to the NAIA Eligibility Center after your junior year.
