A range of hairdressing and beauty therapy treatments were offered at the College's Enfield Centrefor varying prices, while for a minimum donation of £2 visitors at the Tottenham Centre receivedmanicures, makeovers, massages and anti-ageing treatments.

Students at the Tottenham Centre worked hard washing, blow-drying and pampering a steadystream of visitors in the Style Zone and Salon.

Fozia Mahmood, Theatrical Media Make-Up Diploma VTCT Level 3 learner, transformed youthfulPerforming Arts student, Darran Greenwood, into an elderly Big Issue seller. She did such a greatjob even Darran’s classmates did not recognise him!

Fozia (pictured with Darran) said of the Tottenham Centre Charity Day: “Days like this are great.They cheer everybody up, they appeal to young people, we can really show off what the College isdoing and we also inspire people to come on our course.”

Darran said: “I’ve never had so much fun in education, I haven’t missed a day of my Collegecourse.”

While over in Enfield, Students were busy at work, while tutors dressed up in costume to add a funelement to the day.

Selen Latif, Hair and Beauty Level 2 student, pictured with Enfield Hairdressing tutors, CarolChapman and Lynn Bayford who dressed as goddesses for the day, said: “I love the way our tutorsgot into the spirit of things and dressed up for the day. It was a lot of fun, while also allowing us toget so many our assessments completed.”

Anabela Garcia-Villaverde, Head of School for Hair and Beauty, said: “We worked hard organisingthe event and we raised a lot of money while also showing local residents what hair and beautyservices we provide to the public at a very affordable cost."

She added: “While our students are training, they are fully supervised and in many cases haveyears of training behind them. The College offers a wide range of treatments Monday to Friday sopart of this is about getting the word out there and allowing people who are struggling financially tostill experience the luxuries of life.”

Overall, the Hair and Beauty Enfield students raised £900 for Victim Support and the College’sTottenham students raised well over £300 for CLIC Sargent.
