Cultural committee report 2015-16
Cultural forum of Government First Grade College, Magadi aims at inculcating co curricular activities
along with the curriculum for over all development of students personality.
As the academic year commenced ,a staff meeting was held in the presence of the Principal and various
committees were formed. Sri Anil kumar,Assistant professor of Physics department was chosen as
cultural forum secretary. Cultural forum began its activities on 2" week of July 2015 by organizing
Orientation programmme for the first year B.A,B.SC and B.Com students. Many special lecture
programmes were organized by various departments for the encrichment of student's knowledge.
Independence day, Teachers day, Gandhi Jayanthi, Valmiki jayanthi, Republic day were celebrated in the
college. Heritage club of GFGC Magadi in association with Department of History visited Sri Ranganatha
swamy temple. A Jatha was also conducted in Magadi on the same day.
On the occasion of Swamy Vivekananda Jayanti from 12th January to 20th January 2016 Youth week was
celebrated. As a part of youth day celebration debate competition, Essay competition Rural sports were
conducted.
Educational trip was organized by the Department of Soiology from March 26h 2016 to 28th March
2016 for final year B.A. students.Prof. Chidananda Swamy and Kum.Roopashree were convenors of
educational Trips. In the Educational trip Folklore study, a social, political and economical survey was
conducted. Students visited Haadis of Soliga tribes in Heggadadevana kote Taluk of Mysore and wrote
essays regarding soligas life and their problems.They have prepared reports on the importance of
education to soliga tribal people to emancipate them from their problems and to bring them to
mainstream of the society.
BBM students of our college visited to Milk production unit in Mandya and observed Milk purification
process. In the month of March many competitions like debate, Rangoli Singing competitions were
held,where many students participated enthustiastically Valedictory programme of Cultural, NSS,Sports was organized on April 12 2016. Chief Minister's Gold
medal winner in nthe year 2016, Circle Inspector Sri H.L.Nandish was the chief guest of the valedictory
function and motivated students to build their personality through his speech.

Report on cultural committee 2016-17
In the Academic year 2016-17 Cultural committee conducted various events and the report is as follows.
The committee organized welcome programme for newly joined B.A,B.Com and B.Sc students .on 8th
August 2016 the department of Kannada ,Government First Grade College Magadi and the Police
department, Magadi jointly organized awareness programme on Crime control week .Circle Inspector
Sri. Nandish participated in the programme as a chief guest.
On 15th August 2016 Independence day was celebrated in the college campus. All the teaching and non
teaching staff participated in the celebration enthusiastically.The programme was presided by the
Principal Dr. Ramesh Babu.
From 28th August 2016 to 30th August 2016 Kuvempu Yuvaka Sangha of Mysore organsied State level
Inter collegiate Cultural Fest.Ten students of our college participated in various competitions like
Rangoli, Folk Song,Bhavageethe, debate competitions. Our college student Kum.Sowmya of Final year
B.Com secured first place in the Rangoli competition.
On 28th September 2016 Inaugural programme of Cultural ,NSS, Sports was conducted. Magadi Taluk's
MLA Sri H.C.Balakrishna inaugurated the programme. Joint Director of Mangalore Devision, Department
of Collegiate Education was the chief guest of the programme. Dr.Hulikal Nataraj, president of Pavada bayalu sangha demonstrated various myths and motivated students to develop scientific notion. The
programme was presided by Prof.Ramesh Babu, Principal GFGC Magadi.
On 15th October 2016 Valmiki Jayanthi was celebrated in the college. All the teaching and non teaching
staff participated in the celebration. The programme was presided by the Principal Dr. Ramesh Babu
On 6th November 2016 Valmiki Jayanthi was celebrated in the college.
On 22nd February 2017 Ramanagara District Health Centre in association with GFGC Magadi held a
councelling programme in the intention of conducting councelling to the required students every
Tuesday. Dr.Adarsh Psychiatrist and councellor Kalleshappa and Prema Prabhakar participated in the
programme. Timma Hanumaiah who was in charge of Guidance and councelling cell of GFGC Magadi
was also present in the programme. The programme was presided by the principal.
On 26th January 2017 Republic day was celebrated in the college. All the teaching and non teaching staff,
NSS, Scouts and guides,sports students participated in the programme.

Report on cultural committee 2017-18
In the Academic year 2017-18 Cultural committee conducted various events and the report is as follows
On 2nd july2017 In land letter competition was organisesd by GFGC Magadi in association with Postal
department Magadi. On 15th August 2017 Independence day was celebrated. All the teaching and non
teaching staff participated in the celebration. The programme was presided byy
H.R.Murthy. The programme was convened by cultural convenor Chidananda swamy. Thimma
Hanumaiah HOD,department of History spoke in detail about the freedom struggle.

From 4th September to 6h September 2017 Ganesha idol was installed in the college campus to invoke
the blessings of lord ganesh, one of the prime diety of education.immersion of Ganesh idol was done in
grandeur manner amid the participation of students.
On 4th October 2017 inaugural programme of Cultural ,NSS,Sports was conducted. Magadi Taluk's
MLA Sri H.C.Balakrishna inaugurated the programme. MLC sri H.M.Revanna, Sri gaviyappa,Principal
GFGC Kengeri,cine actor,sri Lohithaswa, International weight lifter shymala shetty, purasabha president smt.Hombamma,participated in the prorgramme. The programme was presided by the Principal
Prof.Ramesh Babu.
Former Principal Sri.Akthar hussain Pharuki was also present in the programme.
On 2nd October 2017 Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated in the college. Gandhi study center convenor
Prof Jagadish Naduvinmatta spoke on the topic Gandhi and present rural development. On 26th January 2018 Republic day was celebrated in the college. All the teaching and non teaching staff ,NSS,Scouts and guides ,sports students participated in the programme. The programme was presided by the PrincipalH.R.Murthy. Science day was celebrated by the department of Science and science exhibition was organized. On 18h April Basava Jayanthi was celebrated in the college. All the teaching and non teaching staff participated in the programme. Report on cultural committee 2018-19
Cultural committee of GFGC Magadi conducted various programmes in the academic year 2018-19. Many Inter collegiate programmes and sports competitions were conducted in association with other organizations. National festivals were celebrated and many competitions were conducted to promote the over all growth of Students' personality.

On 28th august 2019 the seminar Rastriya vidyarthi sammelan was conducted by Sheshadri puram college Bangalore in association with Karnataka Gandhi smaraka nidhi on the topic Relevence of Gandhij's thoughts and views in present day. Out of ten students participated from our college Venkatesh murthy of final year B.Com secured first prize in the seminar presentation. On 31st august 2018 Inaugural programme Of Cultural ,NSS, Sports was conducted. Magadi Taluk's MLA Sri Manjunath inaugurated the programme. Prof.Ramesh Babu, Joint Director of Bangalore Devision,Department of collegiate education was the chief guest of the programme.Tahashildar of Magadi Sri shivakumar, sri.Chandru,Taluk Panchayath executive officer, Sri chandru was the keynote speaker.,BEO siddhesh registrar,evaluation, Purasabha member Hombamma, Karnataka Gandhi smaraka nidhi Joint secretary Mangalore Vijay were chief guests. Prof.Chidananda swamy, assistant professor of socilology welcomed the gatherings. The programme was presided by the principal. On 4th September 2018 Karnataka state spinal cord accident victims union, Magadi and cultural committee Magadi jointly organised an essay competition on the topic spinal cord accident a challenge. Around 40 students participated in the competition and winners were given cash prizes and certificates.
From 24th september 2018 to 26th September 2018 Ganesh idol was installed in the college campus to invoke the blessings of lord ganesh, one of the prime diety of education.immersion of Ganesh idol was done in grandeur manner amid the participation of students. On October 2018 Mental health awareness programme was organized in association with District health unit Ramanagar. Dr.Rasheed, Dr.Sharath participated in the awareness programme.

CULTURAL COMMTTEE REPORT-2019-20Government First Grade college Magadi, having a huge unit called cutural committee, under this wing there are three wings namely Mayuri, Mrudunga and Madura wings .Mayuri concentrates on dancing programmes, concentrates on
Nrutya,Bharatha Natyam, modern dance etc ,where as Mrudunga concentrates on Drama and related activities and Madhura relates to singing competitions like folk songs, devotional songs, modern songs, emotional songs etc. cultural committee is very active in organizing and conducting various other progrmmes for the students welfare and helps in moulding their overall behavior.
Note:- Due to covid 19 ,we have not organized any social gatherings ,followed strict guidelines by the government. Only inaugurated college activities.
