About the ISBA Bookstore

The College of Law Bookstore is located in Room 218 on the second floor of the Boyd Law Building. Its phone number is 319-335-9053. Its regular, academic-year, hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, Monday through Friday. During the 2010 summer, the bookstore hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the Fall Rush, the hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Monday through Friday) and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (weekends).

The bookstore carries all of the as-signed texts and materials for law classes. In addition, the bookstore stocks a variety of professionally prepared outlines, hornbooks, and other study aids. Purchases may be charged to the student’s University bill by use of the photo ID or may be covered by cash or check transactions. Other charge cards are not accepted.

Photocopied handouts and teaching materials that have been assigned by professors are made available through the bookstore or are handed out in class. Ordinarily, these materials are purchased as are other materials. When such materials are distributed in class rather than purchased in the bookstore, the students will automatically be billed for assigned materials if the student is enrolled in the course.

All disputes concerning law material charges appearing on a student's University bill are resolved by the bookstore manager. For information on specific merchandise carried by the bookstore, please refer to the follow-ing pages.

Examples of books that may NOT be returned include recommended books, outlines, hornbooks, dictionaries, etc. All books to be returned must be in new condition. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure he or she bought the correct texts before opening or using them. NO refunds will be given for incorrect texts pur-chased. Books & Copy Center Purchased for a Spring, Fall or Summer Semester Courses: Books and copy center may be returned within 2 weeks from first day of class, accompanied by your receipt. A credit will be applied to your Univer-sity Bill. No cash refunds will be given. Books & Copy Center Purchased for an Intersession Course: Books and Copy Center may be returned within 1 day of purchase, ac-companied by your receipt.
