ANNEXURE A

A) Teaching (UG):

1. Virtual classroom: To strengthen the academic and physical infrastructure for

achieving excellence in teaching virtual classroom is one of the answers. Teaching hall

can be converted to virtual classroom and made well equipped with modern teaching

aids like smart board, computers, laptops, internet connectivity, web camera, modern

hearing aids, screen etc. Our students of different subjects can make use of this

classroom to listen and interact with subject experts delivering virtual lectures. Our

expert teachers can teach in this room so that students from other institutes can get

benefited by their expertise. Our students can avail this facility to upgrade their subject

knowledge so that their performance in various competitive examinations will be

improved. This will give global exposure to our students as well as teachers. This will

promote networking with university departments, research centers etc.

2. e- library: Most of our classrooms are equipped with departmental libraries which are

availed by our students and teachers. The drawback is books are limited and are not

available to all at a time. So e- library can be a solution. Our departments are equipped

with computers and internet facility though in limited number. The e- library can have

reference books, encyclopedia, various journals, project proposals etc. which can be

made available at a click of a button. If numbers of computers with internet

connectivity are increased at a time many students and teachers can use the e-library.

This will help in increased interest in reading, interaction among students and teachers,

and huge resources of knowledge stored and available any time.

3. Project for UG: To enhance the quality of learning and teaching process at the

undergraduate Project work is another good way. This helps to judge learned syllabus

more accurately. It also helps to develop personality assets of students. Students will

learn social awareness, problem solving technique, critical thinking, hardworking, team

work through project work. In our syllabus most of the subjects conduct projects at

third year of graduation. If facilities like central library, departmental library, e-library,

computer with net connectivity, software, scanner, printer, conducive environment are

made available our students can prepare and conduct very relevant, applicable projects

for the society. The projects may include survey, data collection (primary and

secondary), data analysis, data interpretation, presentation, making power point

presentations, conducting certain experiments etc.

4. Equipping classrooms with latest gadgets for teaching: To strengthen the academic

and physical infrastructure for achieving excellence in teaching and learning that would

be comparable to global standards we need well equipped classrooms with latest

gadgets for interaction in the class. The infrastructure is enough to conduct teaching but

learning and teaching experience can be enhanced with modern technologies like smart

boards in the classrooms, audiovisual aids, online evaluation system etc. This will help

our teachers to use latest gadgets effectively and smartly at the same time our students

coming from rural background will get exposure to global atmosphere of education.

5. To conduct commerce and management Olympiad at State level:Commerce and

Management departments of our institute are strong departments. In the modern age of

21st century everyone needs to be updated with latest knowledge as well as landmarks

Page 26: COLLEGE PROFILE About the college Plan.pdf · 1 COLLEGE PROFILE About the college: The Rashtriya Sahakari Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Ltd. Chalisgaon was founded on 31st December 1953

26

in development. Contests like Olympiad will help students to prepare in respective

subjects. For the contest they will read, write, discuss, search and interact with other

students and teachers. Surfing on internet will also enhance their knowledge will

preparing for this Olympiad. As it is going to be State level students from various

places urban as well as rural will prepare for the competition.

C) Research:

1. To enrich the research laboratory of Geography: We have a well established

Geography department which is one of the best performing departments. Out of five

teaching faculties two have completed Ph. D. while three are pursuing their research to

achieve Ph. D. Department of Geography is well known recognized research

laboratory. This laboratory needs to be enriched with various software‟s of Global

Mapper and others, GIS system, various modern equipments etc. The research

conducted in this laboratory will be helpful for land survey, agricultural land survey,

soil type analysis etc. which will be applicable locally as well as globally. The research

will help the society at large to understand the surrounding land, decide crop pattern,

weather forecasting etc. and so on

2. To improve the research in the field of Physics: Physics laboratory is well

established with one Ph. D. guide and four pursuing the research. The laboratory needs

to be improved in order to enhance research in the field of material science,

nanoscience, gas sensing, non- conventional energy sources, microwave etc. which are

have global concern. The department wishes to use their research for society

upliftment. Students at third year level have research projects as one of the practical

course. The well equipped laboratory will help the students and faculty as well to

conduct applied research.

3. PTC- laboratory: Biotechnology has become answer to many needs of human being.

Plant Tissue Culture is one among them. As agriculture is the prime occupation of our

area. Botany department can be answer for occupational needs of the farmers. Most of

the agricultural land is under horticultural produce like Banana, Citrus, Orange, Ber,

Pomegranate etc. Well established advanced PTC laboratory can provide disease free

plantlets of Banana, Pomegranate etc. Research to improve quality and quantity of

certain crops, remedies to certain diseases, development of disease free varieties etc.

can be conducted so as to supply the products to the society in short period and at

affordable prices. As most of the students come from farmer background various types

of trainings can be made available in the laboratory so than the research lab can be

brought to the land.

4. To develop research projects useful for society: Department of Zoology,

Mathematics,

Statistics, Computer science, Chemistry, Social Sciences and Language Departments

etc. are also the best performing departments in the institute. In these departments

research is in progress. Two of the departments are recognized, well known research

laboratories in our university. Innovative research projects are being conducted by the

departments and students participate in competitions like Avishkar. These departments

need strengthening to enhance and promote students and faculty to conduct society

oriented projects like Dairy management, Poultry management, use of IT tools in

market committee, problems in e-governance etc. The departments wish to conduct

workshop on Research Methodology and Data analysis.

Page 27: COLLEGE PROFILE About the college Plan.pdf · 1 COLLEGE PROFILE About the college: The Rashtriya Sahakari Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Ltd. Chalisgaon was founded on 31st December 1953

27

5. To develop research laboratory for commerce students: Employers prefer

commerce graduates because of theoretical knowledge of business which is useful to

the organizational activities. Recruitment of such candidates reduces the cost of

training. To make this more practical oriented there is a need of commerce laboratory.

In the laboratory students will practice the theoretical knowledge gainedin classroom.

They can carry on more experiments. Mock commerce and business activities can be

undertaken in the laboratory. Various bank forms filling, share certificates, financial

bills, guidance for CA, ICWA, CS, MBA etc., tax returns, mock meetings, interviews,

group discussion, elections, negotiation etc. can be conducted. Seminar, conferences,

competitions can be organized. Sales mela, exhibitions can be conducted. The students

will be improved in communication skills, presentations, leadership skills etc. This will

help to enhance self-confidence of running a business profitably, join a job confidently

and understand practical difficulties. Practical oriented course at degree level will

enhance the scope of commerce students in the job market.

D) Extension:

1. To develop Forensic Science course with advanced laboratory: Forensic

science includes a diverse field of specialized professionals who work in criminal

investigation as field officers, lab officers, tool mark examiners, document examiners,

forensic pathologist, forensic entomologist, biologist, psychologist, poison analyzer

etc.The Forensic Science Course will help our students and society at large to get

additional qualification for jobs like CBI, Police, and Advocates etc. Through the

course various selected branches of Forensic science, psychological analysis,

observation skill, collection and analysis of certain material will be taught. This course

will enhance the job opportunity skills and will also help society at a large.

2. Develop e-portal for Agro business in Chalisgaon Tahasil: Agriculture is the

backbone of the Indian Economy. It is envisaged to make available relevant

information to the farming community through the use of information and

communication technologies. E-Portal allows business application procedures

developed by the Framework to be easily deployed via the web. The e-Portal employs a

high level of data-caching. Once loaded, an e-Task or pick list is available to anyone

using the system. E- Portal will be a one stop shop for meeting all informational needs

relating to Agriculture. The information will be delivered in the form of text, SMS,

email and audio/video in the language the farmers understand.

3. To generate social and environmental awareness and soft skill

development: There is a need of time to generate social and environment awareness

among the youngsters and college students. Students will be assigned with certain

responsibilities like tree plantation, cleanliness, adult education, eradication of

superstition, female child feticide eradication, dowry victim and widow upliftment etc.

For the awareness drive rallies, cleanliness drive, camps, street plays, survey will be

organized. Poster, slogan, poem etc. Competitions will be organized. Lectures by

eminent personality in the field will be arranged. This will help students to understand

the problems of the society. They will get sensitized to think of solutions.

4. To organize save electricity and save environment campaign for the

society: Efficient use of electricity has become increasingly important in view of

steeply rising electricity tariffs and the shortage of electricity supply. The need to

Page 28: COLLEGE PROFILE About the college Plan.pdf · 1 COLLEGE PROFILE About the college: The Rashtriya Sahakari Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Ltd. Chalisgaon was founded on 31st December 1953

28

reduce operating costs, the cost of inefficient energy use to the economy, the risk of

load shedding and ever increasing carbon emissions all adds up to the urgent need for a
