Home Needlework on Foot Power Weaving LoomDesigns illustrated below are made with

Perle No. 3 or Swiss Teidy cotton. The rejuvenation of this old and simple art

of weaving couch covers, pillow tops, table run-ners, window curtains, fancy bags and numer-ous other articles for home decorations, is mostinteresting.

In olden times the materials used on thesehand-weaving looms was wool in its varioussizes and forms; however, today the processfor finishing the long staple silky, sea-islandcottons inspires the art worker to use

mercerized cottons or artificial silks in obtain-ing the most satisfactory results.

mercerized cotton twisted and finished in thewaterspun process obtains greater luster andmore silky, soft effects. These snowy flakes ofpure, long staple, sea-island cotton, waterspuninto

threads and flosses, of various sizes, increasesthe opportunity for the home being made morebeautiful by the needle workers of the world. The patterns illustrated on this page, to-

gether with many others, are made by thewomen of the "Lockport Home Industry," underthe direct supervision of Edward F. Worst,Lockport, 111. These patterns are arranged tosuit any article for which they are to be used.
