First:overview

This software radio (SDR) short wave (HF) small power (QRP)

transceiver, since the launch of a popular all over the world,

so far, has at least more than 30 thousand users. The advantage

is that it is small and portable, the price is suitable, but

the function is complete, is a direct mining software radio

models. For love DIY enthusiasts, this is a very good practiced

hand suite; software radio programming enthusiasts for love can

also be the hardware of arbitrary software upgrade. And QRP

enthusiasts can use packed suite all outdoor QRP communication,

especially with the psk31 and RTTY digital modem, is a small,

portable emergency communication equipment.

The main features of the mcHF suite are described below:

Three, suite notes

1, the kit contains the host, power lines, hand microphone each.

2, this machine covers band 3.5, 5, 7, 10, 14, 18, 21, 24, 28MHz,

as the original design of only four bands of the transmit low

pass filter, so the harmonic band only four bands.

adjust the LCD backlight brightness, but will lead to the

increase of the noise inside the machine, in the 100% brightness

without the interference noise.

4, the machine SWR detection is only for reference, not

completely accurate. Can refer to the aircraft to adjust the

5, if you do not change the hardware, after the power supply,

even if it does not boot, the whole machine will have 70-80 Ma

static power consumption, from the drive level bias circuit.

6, when the antenna is not connected, the software will

automatically increase the receiving gain, which will cause the

ADC noise to be amplified and decoded. Therefore, there will

be a relatively large receiver noise. Then the antenna is

basically normal.

on, but the spectrum display will be offset by about 6K.

Welding of (a) RF board

This machine uses a powerful STM32F407 CPU, you can use the

PC machine through the USB interface for the firmware to burn

and write to the XP operating system, for example, the specific

steps are as follows:

1, the installation of Bootloader

Install the Dfuse tool (stsw-stm32080.zip, after decompression

run the installation process, the installation can be

successful).

(1), connect the USB Mini cable to the computer

(2), the control board P6 jumper shorted (in just assembling

and welding has been from the C86 and R40 short connect a line,

quite to be P6 a short jumper)

(3), long press BAND+ button

(4), connected to the power supply, press the POWER key

(5), the release of the BAND+ key, continue to hold down the

POWER key (the whole process should be pressed down)

(6) after about 3 seconds, the computer will find new hardware,

and automatically install DFU USB driver

(7), run just install the Demonstration DfuSe tool, confirm to

be able to detect the chip, and then press the "Choose..."

button, select the latest bootloader file.

(8), click on the "Upgrade" button, to upgrade, during the POWER

key to continue to hold, until the upgrade success prompted

(9), turn off the power, P6 will remove the short jumper (C86

and R40 shorted line).

2, brush firmware

(1), turn off the power supply, confirm that the USB Mini line

is connected to the computer.

(2), hold down the BAND- key, and then press the POWER key, enter

the bootloader mode, both LED at the same time light.

(3), about 2 seconds or so, the computer prompts to install a

new driver. (see attached document for WIN7 drive installation.

If the driver installation is not successful, it is recommended

to replace the old computer, the operating system is

recommended to be XP. Always click on the next step until the

driver is installed successfully.

(4), run Manager mcHF, click "Detect", if you can detect

information, explain the success of the drive installation.

(5), click "...", select the latest version of the firmware file

(*.bin)

(6), click on "Update", to upgrade.

(7), after the success of the upgrade, the radio will

automatically restart.

Four, debugging and calibration

Overall welding assembled, connected to the appropriate DC

current and is connected with a power meter, a dummy load,

microphone in hand, a tapper, which can start debugging:

1, not on the power supply, that is about 70 Ma of current is

normal (see above). Press the power button to boot, test the

various buttons and the encoder can be used normally.

(receiving state of the whole machine current is about 0.45A)

2, the band switching point in 4.2 - 4.3MHz, 8.0, 8.1MHz, 16.0

- about 16.1mhz can continuous rotary encoder to adjust the

frequency, hear the sound of a relay switch, in order to

determine low pass band switching is normal.

3, connected to an external antenna, receiving signal of each

band, from spectrum can see signal spectrum (recommended choice

of radio signals, such as can receive the receiving circuit is

normal).

external power meter or comprehensive measuring instrument,

transmitting and calibration of each band power (parameter

values a maximum of 85 in 5W power and full full power stall,
