Side effects include anemia, loss of energy, low resistance to infections, hair loss, mouth
sores, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Newer treatments, like Bevacizumab, Cetuximab, Panitumab,
target the cancer cell more specifically and thus cause fewer
side effects
These are usually combined with standard chemotherapy to enhance
their effectiveness
