Discussion

The property, 6 km northwest of Timmins City Centre (Figure 1), is located in Lot 8,

Cone IV, Mountjoy Township (Figure 2).

Comaplex Minerals Corp is the owner of the mining rights on claims P568931,

P568934 and the patented half lot (Nl/2, Lot 8, Cone IV) immediately to the north.

The property is readily accessed via the Sandy Falls road.

Previous reports on the property by the claim owners have described the general

geology ( Timmins Files - T-2359 and T-2526).

This report includes the analyses of 34 grab samples from the outcrop area within the

southeast portion of the patented half lot and claim P568931 adjoining to the south

(Figures 3 fc 4). The samples were collected by Bruce Raine on May 26/97 and submitted

to Swastika Laboratories on May 28/97, to be analyzed for Au (ppb) and As (ppm).

All the outcrop area sampled is within strongly carbonatized komatiitic volcanic rocks,

both of peridotitic and basaltic compositions. Pyrite is the only mineralization noted and

varies from trace to 3-4 percent, generally averaging one percent or less. Three samples

are considered anomalous in gold; numbers 19851, 19874 and 19879, which returned

values of 46 ppb, 154 ppb and 125 ppb respectively. All three samples are from the

komatiites in the southern most outcrop area.

Of particular interest is that virtually all the samples are anomalous in arsenic, and

some extremely so. Values vary from 10 ppm to 670 pm, with 13 samples containing >

100 ppm As and 3 of these are > 500 ppm. Research by Whitehead et al (1980, 1981), in

the main Timmins gold camp, not only indicates that arsenic is one of the main pathfinder

elements, but that arsenic values > l O ppm in combination with strong carbonatization are

extremely significant and define a potential target area. The Mountjoy Township property

fits this criteria.

Recommendations for these claims, as well as adjoining claims held by Comaplex

Minerals, include detailed magnetic and induced potential surveys (IP) to delineate

potential diamond drill targets.
