For innovators: What does your test facility offer?
For facilities: What clients and/or partners are you looking for?
How do innovators access your facility?
What does success look like: + for the facility or test centre?
+ for clients and partners?
Alberta Clean Energy Technology Accelerator (ACETA)
Ibrahim Karidio and Ellen Tian
The Alberta Clean Energy Technology
Accelerator (ACETA) is a cross institutional
hub that is being developed by the City of
Edmonton, InnoTech Alberta-Vegreville, the
University of Alberta’s Future Energy
Systems and CanmetEnergy-Devon to
create a World-leading clean energy
technology accelerator, for piloting and
scaling-up of innovations in biomass,
municipal solid waste, renewable gas
utilisation as well as hydrocarbon processing
and upgrading technologies.
All West Bio-Industrial Park
Tom Ogaranko and Chris Olson
The All West Bio-Industrial Park is a field demonstration site with available office space
and field demonstration space for commercially ready companies that are aligning
innovative waste management practices with promising bio-industrial technologies and
processes.
Saskatchewan Research
Council’s CeDER (Centre for
the Demonstration of
Emissions Reductions)
Erin Powell
SRC’s CeDER (Centre for the
Demonstration of Emission Reductions) a
mobile field-ready platform that is used to
evaluate the performance of emissions
reduction technologies in real-world field
environments.
CMC Research Institutes’ Carbon
Capture and Conversion Facility
Brian Mellor
CMC Research Institutes' Carbon Capture and
Conversion facility in Richmond, B.C. provides
prototype design, fabrication and plug-and-play
testing for technologies that captures and converts
carbon into commercial products.
CMC CaMI Field Research
Station
Greg Maidment
At CMC Research Institutes’ state-of-the-
art Field Research Station, we assist
technology developers and industry end
users to develop leading edge
measurement and monitoring
technologies.
SAIT Green Building
Technologies
Ben Hildebrandt
The Green Building Technologies research
initiative works with industry partners and
students to help develop new products,
technologies and processes, enhancing
the commercialization of green
technologies in Canada while
fundamentally changing the way we build,
educate and develop skilled labour.
The Alberta Carbon
Conversion Technology
Centre (ACCTC)
Harold Krenkel
The ACCTC will help accelerate the
development of GHG-reduction
technologies and facilitate commercial
adoption by de-risking viable
technologies designed to produce
valuable products from GHG feedstock.
SSRIA Green Building
Technology Network
Tanya Doran
A testbed of projects that will, through
collaboration, identify and implement
energy conservation measures, modelling,
monitoring and metering to validate
improving energy efficiency to significantly
reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
NAIT Centre for Grid
Innovation
Darren Dunfield
The Centre for Grid Innovation (CGI) at
NAIT is a new non-academic research
facility directly supporting the innovation
needs of industry by being structured to
move prototype distributed energy
innovations toward commercial
deployment.
