1887 - 2016 Celebrating 129 Years
Leading More & More People
to a Life Changing Connection with Jesus Christ
December 1, 2016 VOLUME XLV NUMBER 21
Come to Bethlehem and See A Christmas Program
at Hickory Valley Christian Church
December 16, 17 or 18 every half hour from
6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Walk through Bethlehem and experience Jesus’ birth and
His purpose
The Christmas season has begun. In the coming weeks many of us may have a lot going on. With this busy time may come pressures, stressors, relationship clashes and more. In these moments, we may
try to just figure it out ourselves or maybe react on our emotions to deal with them. There is, of course, an alternative to this where we can turn to God. We can pray and ask God to lead us and rely on his guidance. In the Lord’s Prayer we see that God is the one we are to rely on. In reading the Lord’s Prayer we read that He’s the one that gives us, “our daily bread.” He’s the one that “forgives us.” He’s the one that, "deliver[s] us from the evil one.” (from Matthew 6:11-14) I’m so thankful that God doesn’t want us to carry the burden ourselves, but rather expects us to look to him in all things.
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)
