History

Comes Maschinen- und Apparatebau (Machine and Apparatus Construction) GmbH was founded in a small blacksmith shop in 1967 in Zemmer, a village near Trier. In the initial stage of this work-shop the traditional commercial activity of this region was depending on the 'Industry' and the 'Building -Construction'.

As a result of the increasing industrial develop-ment and the resultant demand, the growth of Comes was directly influenced by the needs of the local industry. While working mainly in the areas of the forging, tobacco- , the tyre- and the accumulator industries, our company gained a huge knowledge, thereby expanding our custo-mer's base far beyond the region of Trier.

After achieving the 'Great Verification of Suitability' with scope of direction DIN 18800 Part 7 Clause 6.2 and DIN 15018 'Crane - Steel Frame Structure' as well as the 'Welding - Procedure Qualification' according EN 288-3 for the handling and welding of high strength fine grain structural steel S690QL / S890QL / S960QL and the certification according DIN EN ISO 3834 2 'Quality Requirements for Welding - Design Companies' new industrial sectors of general machine building and heavy industry opened up.

The manufacturing plant Montanstrasse 12 in Trier - Hafen got completed in July 2009. Here piece weights up to 200 tons can currently be handled.

At the end of the eighties the company expanded by adding a construction office using the CAD - System 'Inventor' and the Project Administration System 'Productstream -Compass'.

All the ten available workplaces can create 3D - drawings. This permits to construct machines and engineering plants for all possible fields of application of the indivi-dual customers and carry out FEM-Calculations with ' A N S Y S‘

Currently our company has 100 highly qualified employees. The premises covers approximately 45000 m² including pro-duction- and office- buildings.
