Yard Work is Ruff Work

In my perspective, comic strips often provide brief glimpses of stories. The key elements of this comic strip include character, setting, and plot. In addition, this conveyed in a few settings through a combination of pictures, captions, and dialogue. This comic strip illustrates an obedient dog expressing her epiphany that she is causing more harm than good. Characters are Vangie the owner who is kind, sweet, and Vangie’s dog Felicitas who is spoiled, loyal, obedient loves chasing birds. Sometimes Felicitas tramplers over Vangie’s plants and barks at people who walks by Vangie’s yard. OBJECTIVE • Students will analyze comic strip to identify characters, setting, dialogue, and plot. • Students will identify specific information is conveyed.
Ruff-Ruff! Gardening!!!!
Felicitas! Are you clearing out plants again? So, you can run around chasing birds?
Chirp, chirp
Chirp, chirp
Ruff-Ruff! Yay! Time for me to do the yard work.
A bird! Ruff-Ruff! This is my yard. Ruff-Ruff! I am protecting the yard.
Felicitas Stop! Time for you to go for a walk.
Oh no! Just passing through.
Instead of protecting the yard, I destroyed it.
