“Positive thinking is empowering, positive action is achieving. Dr T.P.Chia.” I warmly welcome all our families back for Term 2. Already it is starting to look busy with a street stall, sausage sizzle (street stall and election day), Todd Thorne football clinic, Living Safely with Pets dog visit, excursion to Adelaide for the opening of the Dream Big Children’s Festival and a Student Free Day. This term we continue our learning in writing by using the Seven Steps for writing success. This involves using sizzling starts, tightening the tension, adding dialogue and building up to a great ending. Part of this process is knowing the ending before you start writing your narrative and then adding all the details in between. There has been a big shift in the descriptive language that the students are using in their writing. We also continue with our Numeracy work in using the Big Ideas in Number. Staff will work with other teachers from small schools to develop learning tasks for our students. I would like to thank Beau, Jossy and Amia and their families for attending the ANZAC service at Robertstown and for Beau who placed the wreath on our behalf. Thankyou to the wonderful Parent Club who spent all day Tuesday cooking for the street stall. For such a small group, your efforts are astounding.

learning about animals and how they adapt to the environment. This week we will celebrate Mother’s Day by making some special treats for our mums/grandmas. Here are some special thoughts about our mums:
Jossy: I love mummy lots and lots. Sometimes she plays Lego with me. Daniel: My mum makes me good food for school. Niamh: My mum helps me with bandaids when I fall over. Mummy gives me lovely kisses and cuddles and bedtime stories. Amia: My mum is awesome and great. Ryleann: I love my mum’s cuddles. I love my mum. Femke: Mummy makes yummy pancakes. I love you mummy.
Happy Mother’s Day Year 3 to 7 class Welcome back. The students have all returned to school happy and excited to be socialising with their friends and to start their new learning program for the term. Our first two weeks have been busy doing activities and tasks related to NAPLAN. Students have been given the opportunity to look at the format and types of questions that they will encounter next week. Also, during these past two weeks the students have completed their Plant and Animal report highlighting what adaptations they have to live in the deserts. They have also been involved with the planning and making of a Mother’s Day gift for their very special mums. We would like to wish Tamika a happy birthday. She turned 9 during the holidays. Wishing all mums a very happy and safe Mother’s Day. FROM OUR PSW
Hello everyone, A mother's love is the most powerful force on earth. What a privilege it is to have these small humans traveling this path with us. Being with them is a constant reminder of what is really important - the love that is in our hearts. There is so much craziness in the world around us. Terrible, nonsensical violence, incredible amounts of pain and suffering. And the antidote to these horrid truths of humanity? LOVE As mothers, we have the opportunity to see our children for the pure love they are, and to keep that love as the basis of their upbringing. With every child who grows up living in Love, believing in the power of Love, we can potentially add awareness, compassion, and beauty to an all too

often cruel and ugly world. What could be more important for the future of our planet? At times it is easy to forget what an important job we are doing as mothers, but really, I truly believe mothers have the potential to change the world. When we are gifted with these little blessings who come in to this world, we have the opportunity to increase the flow of Love around the world. We can change the tide of violence with every kiss, every cuddle, every thoughtful response. Is there anything more powerful force on earth? I don't think we have to worry so much. If I'm ever in a place - that anxiety - sorting out the tiny of details in my mind - I have to sit back, take a big breath, and look at my beautiful children, and remember it's not about anything else but Love. Being a mother is the most important job you can ever do. So all you Beautiful Mothers, don't stress on the details. Hear your child share the Love that is in your hearts, that's all we need to do. "We are born to Love; Love is our mother" –(Rumi) Regards,
Renee 😊
