From our interim music minister… If there is anything in life that's inevitable, it's CHANGE. It can be perceived as good like springtime bursting forth: job changes, the birth of a new baby, mov-ing into your first home, new friendships, leaving to go to college or getting married. Some change can also be per-ceived as negative, like moving into the dreaded winter season, the loss of a job, children moving out, friendships that end, or experiencing a divorce or separation in the fam-ily. The cycles of life continue, life progresses on and change happens. Whether positive or negative, change usually brings feelings of fear, anxiety, indecision, tension, confusion or hopelessness. Our emotions are a part of change. Often times we lose heart of vision during a season of change, because it doesn't appear anything is happening. Learning to trust God with change can be challenging. There is a tension that happens when we are in the midst of change. Living in the middle of what was and the hope of what is yet to come is challenging. We have to learn that we can trust God with change, even when we don't see the end. Psalm 37:34 says, "Don't be impatient for the Lord to act! Keep traveling steadily along his pathway and in due season, He will honor you with every blessing." As we navigate the rough waters of learning to trust God with change, we have to decide where we are going to place our trust or anchor our soul. The Bible tells the story of many spiritual heroes that faced trials and triumphs all while placing their whole trust in God. HBC Family, It's my prayer that you will suit up and be ready to face all of the changes in store over the next year. Change is both exciting and scary, but can be such a season of goodness if we're willing to walk through the changes patiently as God works in and through us for HIS glory.
We welcome Rev. Russell mord! Rev. Russell Mord will be our pulpit guest
this Sunday, February 24!
