about usCommander’s Mansion is owned and operated by

the Town of Watertown. The property is located

on seven secluded acres at the rear of the former

Watertown Arsenal; the mansion is an impressive

example of Italianate-Victorian architecture and

exhibits intricate details inside and out.

historyThe Commander’s Mansion, also once known as

Quarter’s 111, was constructed in 1865 by Major

Thomas Rodman, the commandeering officer of

the Watertown Arsenal. The mansion was placed

on the National Register of Historic Places in

January 1976.
