Commendable Act by 2 Stamfordians We would like to commend two of our students, Jesslyn Chee Jia Xi (P5/2) and Nur Izzaura Binte Izhar (P5/5) for their act of public spiritedness. Both girls found a Samsung mobile phone at a neighborhood playground on 12 March 2018. They called the police and handed over the mobile phone to them after their efforts to trace and locate the owner failed. The school is proud of these two students for showing initiative and displaying the school values of integrity and responsibility. The Singapore Police Force will be presenting them with a token of appreciation for their commendable act. SPSSC National School Games Senior Division Floorball Championships 2018 Displaying our school’s ENRICH values, both the boys’ and girls’ teams progressed through the qualifying and 2 nd rounds to reach the semi-finals and finals respectively. The Senior Girls secured 3 rd place by defeating Pasir Ris Primary 5-1 while the Senior Boys ended as National Champions once again with a breath-taking win against Pasir Ris Primary. The scores were tied at 2-2 at the final whistle, with Stamford winning the penalty shootout 3-1. Both teams have truly done the school proud with their performances and sporting behaviour. We warmly congratulate our Floorball players and thank all parents who have supported us. Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation (SYFAP) 2018 This year, three of our performing groups, Choir, Chinese Dance, and International Dance took part in the SYFAP 2018. Our performers had started preparing for the festival since last year. We are proud to announce that the students have demonstrated resilience and their efforts over the past few months of practices had resulted in vibrant performances during the SYFAP with the following results: Achievement Performing Art CCA Groups Certificate of Commendation Choir Certificate of Accomplishment Chinese Dance International Dance As the mid-year examinations are around the corner, we wish the best for all students and hope that they will continue to demonstrate tenacity and self-discipline to do well in the academics. A IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Term 2 Holidays & Travel Declaration

Term 2 school vacation will be from Saturday, 26 May 2018 to Sunday, 24 June 2018.

As this semester school calendar draws to a close, we would like to remind those

planning to travel overseas during the school vacation to complete the online Student

Travel Declaration Form via ONE of the following means:

i. Access the PDF form by clicking on the Student Travel Declaration Form link in

the school’s website under “Parents/Admin Forms”; ii. Use this website https://goo.gl/forms/k5puWXIzTwSKsjij1 to submit your

declaration; OR iii. Use the QR Code below to access and submit your child(ren) / ward’s travel

declaration.

The closing date for submission is Friday, 18 May 2018. For parents of Primary 1 students, do take note that it is mandatory for you to declare your travel plans during this June school vacation. If your child/ward in Primary 1 is not travelling, please indicate “No” in the form. For parents of Primary 2 to Primary 6 students, only those who are travelling need to complete the online Student Travel Declaration Form.

2. P1, P3 to P6 Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) and P2 Parent-Child-Teacher Conference (PCTC) The Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) and Parent-Child-Teacher Conference (PCTC)

would be held on 25 May, Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

At the PTC, you would have one-to-one dialogue sessions with your child/ward’s

teachers. The objective of the PTC is for you to have a better understanding of your

child/ward’s performance in various subjects and conduct in school. It would also enable

you to update teachers on the child/ward’s home situation. You would receive the report

book from your child/ward’s Form Teachers at the PTC.

The objective of the Primary 2 PCTC is for you to have a better understanding of your

child/ward’s performance in various subjects and conduct in school. It would also provide

you with an opportunity to work with teachers to better support your child/ward’s learning.

As we move towards cultivating self-directed reflective learners and effective

communicators, we want our students to take responsibility for their own learning and talk

about their progress in learning. The conferencing session would be led by your

child/ward with the teacher as facilitator.

More details would be given nearer the date. We look forward to your strong support and

attendance.
