Mayor’s CornerBy Westland Mayor

William R. Wild, Mayor
Westland Chamber of Commerce Page 3
Dear Chamber Member,
By the time you read this, I will have held my 2015 State of the
City address. If you were not able to attend, then you may not
know that the City of Westland earned the prestigious Michigan
Municipal League “Community Excellence” award, Michigan’s
highest municipal project award, recognizing the retrofit of a long
vacant “big box” structure into what is now City Hall or that the
City continues to realize significant economic growth and redevel-
opment. We are fortunate that Fun Land, along with national re-
tailers such as Bed, Bath & Beyond continue to invest in our All
American City and manufacturers such as Williams/Bayer Indus-
tries choose to expand their operations by adding a $3.6 million,
52,000 square foot manufacturing facility at their Webb Drive site.
Williams/Bayers expects to fill 55 new jobs within the next two
years as a result, an endeavor that is a win-win for this company
and those who seek employment as well as the City who benefits
from business neighbors like Wiliams Bayer.
This is your last opportunity in 2015 to spend a Thursday at the
Westland Farmers & Artisans Market and support local farmers and
crafters through purchasing farm to table fresh produce and baked
goods, and handcrafted items. The Market runs from 3 – 7 p.m. at
Central City Park. The final day of the regular season for the Farm-
ers & Artisans Market and will be October 8.
October will be another busy month as I host my monthly Morn-
ings with the Mayor on October 13 at 9 a.m. Later that week on
October 16, we will hold the grand opening of the Jefferson Barns
Vitality Center at 4 p.m. and Trunk or Treat will be held in Nor-
wayne on October 31.
In closing, you may have heard about the Great Lakes Water Au-
thority (GLWA) that provides for management of southeast Michi-
gan’s water and sewer systems in exchange for lease payments to
the City of Detroit that Detroit will use to fund improvements to
this essential infrastructure. More information may be found at
www.glwater.org or www.dwsdoutreach.org.
And as always, remember to visit the City’s website www.city-
ofwestland.com and the City’s Facebook site for the latest on news,
services and events happening in our All American City!

New Member Profile: Integrity Pure & NaturalIntegrity Pure & Natural LLC is an up and coming new company
right here in Westland that specializes in natural skincare. Owner
DeAnna Gilbert is a dynamic woman who is passionate about her
company. “Our products are created with natural ingredients (es-
sential oils, vitamins and minerals) and researched to provide ef-
fective high quality products at affordable prices. No toxic
chemicals, no preservatives, no bad stuff! Our bodies are designed
to better absorb what nature has to offer than what’s produced in a
laboratory” explained Gilbert.
She explained how the company was born. “I have been a Li-
censed Cosmetologist for 18 years. My husband and I have 3 chil-
dren and we all suffer from extreme skin sensitivities. Especially
from toxic chemicals, preservatives, and color additives. My
daughter is gluten intolerant and has been advised by her Doctor
to stay away from gluten even in her shampoo, skincare, and tooth-
paste!
Trying to find all natural and gluten-free skincare products was
very difficult. Working in the Beauty Industry and knowing about skincare I decided to start making our own. My close
friend has a Goat Farm and has always made her own goatmilk soap and goatmilk lotions. She taught me the requirements
of lotion and soap making. With the experience she taught me and with the skincare knowledge I knew from cosmetology I
decided to start making more products for family & friends.
The positive feedback and testimonies’ I received encouraged me to make a full line of all natural products. After a great
deal of research on Companies claiming to be all natural, it was disappointing to read labels and realize they were not as nat-
ural as they wanted you to believe. For this reason Integrity Pure & Natural LLC was born.”
We first met Deanna at the Westland Farmers & Artisans Market and are excited to have her as a new Chamber member.
Her products are wonderful and available through the website: IntegrityPureNatural.com. For more information call 734-
751-5120. You can also find Integrity Pure & Natural on Facebook.

Wheels meal.
For every $10 collected, she will be able to donate
a pair of slippers to a local senior citizen this holi-
day season.
Monetary donations are being accepted at the Avon
