Our Mission - WE, the people of Our Lady of Consolation Parish guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Eucharist,

pledge to continue the mission of Jesus Christ who announced the reign of God. We accept His challenge to proclaim the

Good News of salvation that Jesus, the Christ, died for us, and in Him we have life to the fullest measure. We seek to live as

He lived, in service to others, building a community of faith and hope, with God’s grace as our strength and the peace of

Christ our heart’s desire. A Parishioner is - one who is registered and participates in the liturgical life of the parish and

demonstrates their support, as reflected in the Parish Mission Statement, by completing and fulfilling an annual Stewardship

Commitment of Time, Talent and Treasure.

A Message of Hope

In today’s Gospel, Jesus mentions twice about being the Good Shepherd and 4 times about laying down His life for His sheep. Jesus did this for us…all of us! Perfect timing for this Gospel as our 2nd graders receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion this week and next. I feel He is telling them, He will never leave them, they are a part of His flock. All Jesus wants in return is their love and to be good shepherds to others.

Lead faithfully and bring others into your fold, include everyone. Jesus started with a small flock for a short time. But we can greatly increase ours.

Congratulations to all our Communicants; who under the guidance of Jesus Christ may you always… Be nourished by the Eucharist… Feel the presence of the Lord…

Embrace joy in your heart… Knowing you are a part of the greatest flock under one amazing Shepherd.

God Bless…

A SPECIAL LENTEN SOUP PROGRAM THANK YOU

FROM ECUADOR QUILT…

We have completed the 10th year of our Lenten Soup Nights program. We extend a warm “Thank You” for the efforts of the families from all areas of parish life who participated in the planning, taking soup orders, cooking each week, sharing a sacrificial meal and praying together. We give a special “Thank You” to the over 40 cooks who generously prepared soup each week. Over these six weeks more than 261 families participated in our Lenten Soup Meals. We received donations of $4,294.00. Thank you for your participation and support. For those parishioners who chose to be “sponsors”, your generosity was appreciated. All donations will help feed the children. Currently, we feed 200 children in Day Care Centers. For those who would like to contribute to our “Feed the Children Program”, checks can be made payable to “Ecuador Quilt” and left at the parish center or dropped into the Ecuador Donation boxes at the exits of the church. On behalf of the children…Thank You & God Bless…

INTRODUCING “FLOCKNOTE” Sending “notes” to your “flock”

Using FLOCKNOTE will allow OLC to easily send our parishioners information about what’s happening here at OLC using emails and/or text messages. It is also an effective tool that individual ministries can use to communicate with their members. A few groups have already started using it and we hope to expand as we provide more information to our parishioners.

In the coming weeks you will hear more about this product and will have the opportunity to become a participant and experience its benefits. Watch for a welcome e-mail. Your data is secure and you can opt out at any time.

Based on the results of the survey we conducted last year regarding bulletin preferences, we have started to e-mail our weekly bulletin to those parishioners who indicated interest.

For more information or questions, contact Elena Walsh at 973-839-3444 Ext 115 or [email protected].
