SUBJECT: Ceremonial Resolution - Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Background Information:
The objective of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is to put a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children, survivorship issues, and - importantly - to help raise funds for research and family support.
Evaluation! Analysis:
Families, caregivers, charities and research groups across the United States observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. In the U.S., 15,780 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year; approximately 1/4 of them will not survive the disease. A diagnosis turns the lives of the entire family upside down.

SUBJECT: Authorize a Resolution to add tlFall Special" rates for the Schenectady Municipal Golf Course.
TO BE PLACED ON COUNCIL AGENDA OF: September 28, 2015
Background Information:
During the Fall months, typically, the number of golfers decreases in terms of rounds played at most facilities. This can be attributed to school being back in session, people relocating to warmer climates and other golf courses lowering their rates or offering seasonal promotions
Evaluation/Analysis:
Attached please find a letter from The City's Golf Pro, Matthew Daley requesting that the City add a "Fall Special" to the golf rates for foursomes during the fall months as follows:
• Monday thru Thursday - One Foursome of golfers with carts for $100.00
• Friday thru Sunday - One Foursome of golfers with carts for $120.00

Dear Mr. Wallin,
season moves into Fall typically, the number of golfers decreases in terms at most facilities. This can be attributed to being back in
to warmer and their rates or
add a to our nTTPnO." greens as the
.. - One Foursome of golfers with carts for $100.00
.. - One Foursome golfers with carts for $120.00
This would only be extended to a foursome. One, two or three players would not receive
understand that Non-Residents of would benefit greater, but the deal is such that all of status will benefit from this terrific offer.
This also eliminates the possibility of three players being a non- resident and one being a resident etc. and there being confusion as to what pricing should be given in that instance. One flat rate makes it simpler and quite frankly, will increase our revenues as we will now be competing with area courses when the lower their rates. The general consensus is, players enjoy coming here more than most facilities. We should take advantage of that in order to keep them coming here.
