Here’s what you’ll find in this presentation
In the age of Distance Learning, we hope to provide families with the following:
1. A few tips to help families through digital learning● Home set up/interruptions ● Dos and don’ts (supportive v. hovering)● Attendance
2. Schoology 3. Google Classroom & Google suite4. Synchronous v. Asynchonous5. Ways to supplement learning outside of the school day
● Headphones - to block out outside noise and avoid creating additional commotion.
● Have supplies handy (books, pens, pencils, paper). Quick access as if they were in school.
● Designated area that has limited distractions (away from games, tv, and other devices)
● Personalized & comfortable (but NOT too comfortable)
Remember: We are guests in everyone’s house. Please be mindful of how you are represented to each other.

Don’ts or Avoid (hovering or low participation)
● Designated times for school/ attendance
● Excessively schedule appointments and activities during school time
● Asking reflective questions of scholar about school
● Critiquing, answering, and participating during instruction/ class time
● Providing quiet space (headphones with microphone)
● Personal discussions in the background of class
● Encouraging problem solving & resourceful behaviors
● Solve scholar’s problems or ask teacher to solve before exploring on their own
Dos & Don’ts continued
● Encouraging independence and accountability
● Do scholar’s work and inquire about their assignments
● Be familiar with platforms and apps used in class
● Assume scholar’s are disclosing all information about what we are doing
● Reach out to teacher for clarification through office hours or other types of communication (email, ClassDojo, etc.)
● Ask teacher questions during lessons or school sessions.
