Common errors in data loading

1.Time stamp error

Resolution procedure

Go to RSA1Source system

Run program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL

3

Page 4: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Mention source system and Info source and then execute.

Now the transfer structure will be automatically activated.

Then proceed with the reload, it will get success now.

2. PSA error records

Go to details tab, we will find its packet no. and its record no.

Resolution procedure

Click on PSA icon in monitor and select the error data packet

5

Page 6: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Double click on error record and edit it to the correct value,

select save.

6

Page 7: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Now update from PSA to target by selecting the option Start update immediately.

3. SID not found for characteristic

Resolution procedure

a. Remove the failed request from data target by making its QM status into red.b. Load Master data for characteristic using full update.c. Then reload the transactional data.

8

4. Error calling number range object

Resolution procedure

Note down the assigned dimension into the cube for “0VAL_TYPE”

copy the dimension name

9

Page 10: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Go to RSRV transaction

Tests in Transaction RSRV -> All Elementary Tests ->Transactional Data then double click on “Comparison of Number Range of a Dimension and Maximum DIMID”- then click on the right pane in same->Mention the cube name and dimension name, click on enter.

Then click on correct error. It will correct the error.

10

5. Trfc error

Resolution procedure

Go to SM58

Go to edit->Execute LUW.

11

Page 12: Common Errors in Data Loading

Then do refresh in monitor.

Now it will pick the records and the load will get success.

Some times we found that some packets will not get updated even if the extraction is showing as complete.

12

Page 13: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Do manual update of each packet

13

6. ALE REMOTE lock

Resolution procedure

This can happen when user or ALEREMOTE is accessing the same table

a. Remove failed request from data target by making its QM status into red.b. Check into sm12 and delete the lock, usually the BASIS deletes themc. Reload the package

7. Delta fails

Resolution procedure

R/3->BWData is coming from R/3 then make the request technical status red in monitor and remove the request from manage.

go to info package restart the load, then you will get a pop up saying that ‘repeat of last delta’ click on request again.

15

Page 16: Common Errors in Data Loading

Go back to manage and look for the delta type, it will show as Repeat of last delta.

BW->BW(Data mart)Delta load failed from ODS to cube/any data mart.

Make its technical status as red

16

Page 17: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Go to manage and remove the failed request by making its QM status as red.

It is updating from ODS, so we have to remove the data mart status in ODS manage, before restarting delta

17

Page 18: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

If you click on data mart status it will pop up a window

Click on delete icon, select YES and then ok.Now refresh manage the data mart status will get deleted.

If you load now the failed delta will get success.

8. Deleting setup table

Go to lbwg

Mention the Application Component for which you want to delete setup table and then execute in background.

9. How to run statistical setup for different Application components

Transaction codes for stat setups which we used regularly

OLI1BW- statistical setup for Material movementsOLI2BW- statistical setup for stocksOLI3BW- statistical setup for PurchasingOLI4BW- statistical setup for ManufacturingOLI7BW- statistical setup for Sales ordersOLI8BW- statistical setup for DeliveriesOLI9BW- statistical setup for Billing

go to OLI4BW for Manufacturing, give the selections, name of the run, date and time of termination and then execute in background.

You can check the jobs status in sm37, and their selection criteria’s

To check the selections given in stat setup->select the job name->select step

20

Page 21: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Select program->go to-> variant

It will take you to selections which you have mentioned, while doing the stat setup

If you want to check the data source name, for which the stat setup executedSelect job name->go to job log

21

Page 22: Common Errors in Data Loading

You will find the data source name

10. How to do selective deletion

Go to data target manage->contents->click on selective deletion

Pop up window will come->click on Delete selections->mention the selection criteria for deletion of data and select it as background job.

Come back to the initial screen and click on start button.

23

This job we can monitor in sm37 with BI_INDX*

11. Roll up

Filling the aggregates is called as rollup. Here we have a option Compress after rollup, if you check this check box after completing the rollup, compression will be started.

25

Page 26: Common Errors in Data Loading

11. Compression or collapse

Compression is nothing but moving the data from F fact table to E fact table by losing its request numbers. For cumulative key figures(compression)Here we have a option called zero elimination (it is applicable only for cumulative key figures). If you want to avoid the Info Cube containing entries whose key figures are zero values (in reverse posting for example) you can run a zero-elimination at the same time as the compression. In this case, the entries where all key figures are equal to 0 are deleted from the fact table.

Zero-elimination is permitted only for Info Cubes , where key figures with the aggregation behavior ‘SUM’ appear exclusively. In particular, you are not permitted to run zero-elimination with non-cumulative values.

For non cumulative key figure (compression)

Marker is used to reduce the time of fetching the non-cumulative key figures while reporting.

This no marker update concept arises if the cube contains a non-cumulative key figures say for example take the material movements cube where stock quantity is a non-cumulative key figure. There the process of loading the data into the cube involves in two steps.

in the first step one should load the records pertaining to the opening stock balance/or the stock present at the time of implementation. At this time we will make marker to update( uncheck no marker update) so that the value of current stock quantity is stored in the marker. After that when we r loading the historical movements (stock movements made previous to the time of implementing the cube). At this time we have to check marker update so that the marker should not be updated ( because of these historical movements only the stock balance /opening stock quantity has been updated. i.e we have already loaded the present stock and the aggregation of previous/historical data accumulates to the present data).

26

Page 27: Common Errors in Data Loading

Common errors in data loading

Second after every successful delta loads, we should not check maker update (we should allow to update marker) so that the changes in the stock quantity should be updated in the marker value. The marker will be updated to those records which are compressed. The marker will not be updated to those uncompressed requests. That is why for every delta load requests the requests should be compressed.

This marker is mainly used to fetch the records value for reporting. It helps easily to get the values of previous stock quantities while reporting.

12. How to do Attribute change run

Run the program RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN

Mention the object name for which we have to run Attribute change run and then execute in background.
