Buildings constructed after 1990 are unlikely to contain asbestos materials. The diagram shows areas where materials containing asbestos were commonly used during construction or installation of plant. These materials are not dangerous if they are in a good condition and remain undisturbed.
A person with management or control of a workplace must ensure an asbestos register is prepared and kept at the workplace.
Note: All products with the common name ‘Versilux’, ‘Hardiflex’, ‘Vermiculite’ and ‘Monocoat’ are manufactured today without asbestos content.
