    This designates February 16, 1985, as Elks American Patriotism Day in celebrating the Elks' 117th anniversary.

    The Order of Elks is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the United States, having held irs first formal

    meeting February 16, 1868, in New York Cily. The Elks, being a civic-minded organization, have contributed $26 million in 1983 to support cerebral palsy research, veterans' hospitals, retarded child care, and other services to aid the handicapped.

    Whereas, on February 16, 1985, the Elks wish to have the colors of the American flag - red, white, and blue - displayed by everyone in our area and in this State. Thank you.
