How to Check/Update Your E-mail Address in Moodle

Go to the the Moodle main page At the top right of the page, you will see "You are logged in as Your

Name." Click on "Your Name." (except that it will say your own name in place of "Your Name.").

This takes you to a page that shows the information that you have in your profile. To edit it, click on the "Edit Profile" on the left.

Profile options are shown with a drop down menu or a text box next to each. Make your choices by selecting from each drop down menu or by typing text in the options that show a text box.

When you have finished entering your choices, scroll down to the end of the page and click on the "Update Profile" button.

Please do not change your name; only update your e-mail address, so your instructor can effectively communicate with you.

Blackboard IM Registration Blackboard IM is an additional way that you can

communicate with me and your classmates. This is where I will hold office hours. The only way to use this resource, however, is if you register. In order to do this you must:

Go back to the Moodle home page

Click on the Blackboard IM under the Learning Block Forum or on the Blackboard IM block on the right hand side.

You should enter a page where you can begin registration. Follow all the instructions given on this page. Use the same user name and password you use for Moodle, so it will be easier for you to remember.

Learning Block/Announcements

Teachers use learning blocks to communicate to the entire class, so you should read them each time you access the course so you know your teacher's expectations. If you missed a day,  you should read the ones you missed as well. It is also in this section where your teacher will post announcements, share information, and celebrate successes. Learning Blocks appear at the top center of your course home page

Sending a Message in Moodle "Messages" is the main form of communication in the

course. The first thing you will need to learn is how to contact your instructor as well as your classmates.

In Moodle, you can send a message several ways. One way to send a message is: Go to the people block (left hand side of the screen) Click Participants Click on the person you wish to message Click send a message Type in your message and click send. NOTE: you can not message attachments in Moodle,

you have to send them through email.
