Preface
The 2011 International Conference on Intelligent Computing and InformationScience (ICICIS 2011) was held in Chongqing, China, during January 8–9, 2011.The aim of the conference series is to provide a platform for researchers, engi-neers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world topresent their research results and development activities in intelligent comput-ing and information science. This two-volume set of CCIS 134 and CCIS 135communicates the latest progress and research results in the theory, methods, and technology in the field of intelligent computing and information science if italso presents an update on the international trends, which will drive the globalcommunication and cooperation in production, education and research in thisfield.
We received more than 600 submissions which were reviewed by internationalexperts, and 230 papers were selected for presentation. We believe the proceed-ings provide the reader with a broad overview of the latest advances in the fieldof intelligent computing and information science.
On behalf of the guest editors for this special issue, I would like to thank theNational 863 Program of China and the National Science Fund of China. I alsothank the conference organization staff and the members of the InternationalTechnical Committees for their hard work.
We look forward to seeing all of you next year at ICICIS 2012.
