The first edition of Social Media and Productivity Tools covered how to create a Facebook and Twitter account and their basic functions. This time, the focus will be on what you can do with them in your positions. How can you use them to market programs that you are offering? What are the best practices used by other institutions? We will dedicate an hour and fifteen minutes to each technology with a twenty minute intermission between sessions. During the intermission, we will have people on hand to assist anyone with account creation if they do not currently have an account. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, April 10th from 1:00pm-4:00pm in the Collaborative Learning Center in the Livingston Student Center. NOH8 CAMPAIGN
Rutgers will be hosting the NOH8 Campaign (www.noh8campaign.org) for an open photo shoot to support marriage equality. This event is organized by College Student Affairs Graduate Students Eric Hafner, Devin Budhram, and Paul DeStefano and will be held in the Rutgers Student Center, Multipurpose Room on Wednesday, April 4th from 12:00pm-3:00pm. In addition, a resource fair will be held during the day featuring co-sponsoring University units and departments, as well as student organizations and local community groups. We invite you to join us in the afternoon and have your photograph taken in support of marriage equality for all. The first 220 Rutgers students through the line with a valid RUID will receive a solo shot for $5. This program will be followed by a panel discussion on marriage equality from 8:00pm-10:00pm, which will also be held in the Rutgers Student Center, Multipurpose Room. Panelists include:

Congresswoman Yvette Clarke will speak about "The Future of Immigrant America" on Monday, April 9th at 5:00pm at the Eagleton Institute of Politics on Douglass Campus. Clarke is a Brook-lyn native whose roots are firmly planted in her Jamaican heritage. Representing the 11th district, she is committed to continuing the legacy of an earlier holder of the same seat, the late Shirley Chisholm, the first African American woman and Caribbean American elected to Congress.

Departmental updates
Rutgers University Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is a university-wide event that celebrates the lives of cancer survivors, remembers those we've lost, and fights back with those currently battling cancer. This 12 hour event is on April 13-14 from 7:00pm-7:00am at Sonny Werblin Recreation Center on Busch. To get in-volved you can join or create a team, invite a survivor, or make a donation. STUDENT AFFAIRS CONFERENCE PLANNING COMMITTEE

Kate Quinlan has joined Rutgers Recreation. She is a 2006 graduate of Rutgers and completed her Master’s Degree at the University of Florida. She is an Intramural Coordinator and her office is located at the Livingston Recreation Center. Welcome back, Kate!
Don Heilman successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Graduate School of Education Thursday, March 29, 2012. Don will be awarded his Doctorate of Education in the field of Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education. His dissertation was on transformative learning arising from a service learning trip based on the experience of 82 Rutgers University students and staff who went to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to assist with recovery efforts.
