QUIZOPHILE - Quiz Committee

The quiz committee conducted Quizophile on 25th January, 2018 sponsored by The Kitchen. The

event consisted two rounds - "Make the Cut" and "Race against Opponents". In the first round, the

participants were required to answer a set of questions from any three categories. In the second

round, the participant's leg were tied with each other and then they had to answer questions related to

business news. In total, 7 teams had registered. The winners were:

Team 1st – Udayan Singh (AIBS) & Pragati Agarwal (MBA-2018)

The JAN-TARK – Debate Club Debate club organized their third debate - The Jan-

Tark, for the academic year 2017-18. The topic for

the debate was “Have bribes become the new

informal tax for common people in India". Eight

teams from across the FMS colleges participated in

the debate. The winning team were:

FINOPHILE – Finance Club On 8th February, 2018 finance club conducted their

event - Finophile. In total 21 teams participated

from ABS and AGBS. It consisted of 3 rounds -

Scribbage, Intelligent Investor and My Words My

Ways.

It was a tie for the first place and the winners were

PLANNING GURUS – HR Club

The HR Club organized their event “Planning

Gurus” on 22nd February 2018. It comprised

of two rounds - Clear the Jam & Kalakriti.

Around 20 participants took part in the event.

It was creative event which included activities

like best out of waste, hurdles and more.

MERCATUS MANTRA – Marketing Club

Mercatus Mantra was organized by Marketing club on 22nd February, 2018. Mr. Abhinav

Saran, Team Head – BTL Operations at Panasonic India and Ms. Sumedha Chatterjee, Head

Marketing at British Council Journal were the juries for the event. There were three rounds -

Online Screening, Merge It! and Innovation Expo. Various departments from Amity actively

participated. The winners were, 1st – Kanupriya Kabra and Meenakshi Arora; 2nd –

Abhishek Kukreja and Rishabh; 3rd – Jitender Kumar Gupta and Tanmay Asthana. They

received Zara, Marks & Spencers and Lifestyle gift vouchers respectively.

BEST MANAGER – AYF 2018 The Best Manager is the flagship event of the Amity Youth Festival, which is organized by Amity Business School. The event consisted of 5 rounds namely - Marketing, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources and Stress Management.

A 3 day long event where management colleges across the country participated, namely: • Sri Ram College of Commerce • MDI Gurgaon • Welingkar • Manav Rachna International University • Symbiosis Center of Management Studies • Punjab Technical University

Round 1: Marketing - Vipanan 2.0. Chaired by Mr. Varun Yadav, CEO Varuna Chemicals, Ms. Priya Nayar, Senior Manager, Times Business Solutions & Mr. Nitin Bahl, Outdoor Product Manager, Philips India. Had three rounds - BrainQ, Adhura Bazaar and Bitter Barter. Round 2: IT – Technalytics, a case study based round. Jury members were, Colonel P Chandra, Retired Col. Indian Army, Mr. Abhitanjay Choudhary, Partner, Matterhorn Consultancy Services & Sidharth Sharma, Technical Specialist, HCL Technologies Ltd.

Round 3: Finance It was divided int0 three rounds - Dalal Street, Picture Perfect and Market Kshetra.

Round 4: Human Resources There were three rounds - Personal Effectiveness, Emotional Intelligence Test and MBTI Test. Top 3 performers were - Welingker, Punjab Technical University and Amity Business School. Round 5: Stress Interview. Jury members were – Ms. Reshma Jain, Senior Partner with E&Y, Ms. Ayushi Sharma, Manager RMS, Neilson India, & Mr. Ankit Garg, Associate Consultant, HCL Technologies.

INTER INSTITUTE COMPETITION CELL - IICC

JANUARY:

Students of Amity participated in 20 competition and tracked 7 major institutions. The

following institutions have been tracked and the number of management events covered:

• SRCC, DU with 4 events

• NMIMS, Mumbai with 2 events

• IMI, New Delhi with 3 events

• LBSIM, Delhi with 7 events

• FMS, Delhi with 2 events

• IMT Ghaziabad with 1 on-campus quiz

• TISS Mumbai with 1 event

• IMI , Delhi conducted 3 events out of which the event ‘Maestro De Thrones’ was

represented by two teams Rohan & Vrinda (MBA General - 2019) , Yash & Pukhraj (MBA

General - 2019) who made it to the finale.

• Out of 7 events that were conducted by LBSIM, Delhi , 3 events named Atiziva, Arthneeti

3.0 and Kartavya were each represented by just 1 team – Remya & Aditya (MBA M&S) ,

Namit , Arpit & Vanshaj , Stuti and Riyya ( MBA General – 2018) respectively out of which

all made it to the final on campus round .

• FMS, Delhi hosted 2 HR events out of which the event ‘EntHRall’ was represented by the

team ‘Brandon, Komal & Tharun (MBA HR – 2019)’ who made it to the top from our

institute out of a total of 500 who participated in the event . Similarly TISS Mumbai was

represented by ‘Brandon & Komal (MBA HR – 2019)’ again made it to the top 15 out of a

total of 150 teams.

• Tata Crucible On-Campus Quiz who conduct their on-campus quiz Tata Crucible On-

Campus Quiz every year was conducted this year on 31st January 2018 in which 5 teams

participated and the team of ‘Praguni (MBA General – 2018) and Astitva ( B.Tech ,

Biotechnology)’ with the highest score made it to the top 6 who secured the 3rd position.

FEBRURAY:

Students of Amity participated in 16 competition and tracked 8 major institutions. The

• Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), Gurgaon conducted 3 events out of which

the event ‘Me'lange’ was represented by Rthym and Abhishek who made it till the second

round.

• Out of 5 events that were conducted by IIT Kanpur, 2 events named Battlefield, Best

Manager were represented by 6 teams each out of which 5 teams qualified in all till the

2nd round and Marketingvilla were represented by 4 teams out of which Deeksha and

nidhi qualified till the 2nd round.

• SRCC, DU hosted 2 HR events out of which the event ‘Headhunter’ was represented by 6

teams out of which ‘Stuti Mathur, Ankita and Payal (HR), ‘Tharun, Flora and Komal,

Anchit, Brandon and Pritika’ who made it to the 2nd round out of which ‘Stuti Mathur,

Ankita and Payal (HR)’ made it to the finale.

MARCH:

Students of Amity participated and coordinated for CII-The Inter College Engagement and

tracked 1 major institution. IIT Kanpur organized the event Technkriti-countdown in which

3 teams from MBA (HR) participated actively from our college.

• Team 1: Shivanshi and tanvi

• Team 2: Purab and Rupashi

• Team 3: Nimisha and Navormi

3 teams from the course of marketing, HR and General Management also participated in CII

, the event hosted by KIET.

A team from MBA (M&S) participated – Remya Mohanan, Tejal Manchanda and Aditya

Veerbhan, a team for General Management – Sanya Kharbanda and Bhavya Dua from

MBA(HR) and A team from MBA (HR) secured the 3rd position- Amlan, Swati and Anjali.

Amity University organized Military Training Camp where students of MBA - General, Marketing & Sales, Entrepreneurship and Finance got a 1st hand experience to develop their leadership skills & inculcate discipline as a part of extracurricular activities.

MILITARY TRAINING CAMP - MTC

TATA MOTORS – INAUGURAL CEREMONY 8th Batch of Tata Motors Works Manager training programme started on 11th June, 2018 for a period of three months. Mr. Amit Kumar Goel-Head (Skill Development and Training Institute), Customer Care, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd., Mr. Arvind Mishra-State Service Head (Delhi), Customer Care, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd. & Ms. Swati Jha , Senior Manager-Skill Development and Training -Tata Motors Ltd. Were present for the inaugural ceremony. Welcome Address by Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS & Director ABS. was present during the inaugural function. The programme was attended by dignitaries from NSDC and TATA Motors. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal Sir, Dean FMS & Director ABS conveyed to them the blessings of Hon’ble Founder President in his address and also read the message given by Founder President along with the books. Valedictory session started with presentation of report by Dr. Sumeet Singh Jasial, Programme Coordinator. Dr. Anita Venaik (Programme Coordinator) provided future guid elines to the trainees.

Another academic year came to an end and to celebrate this glorious occasion, Amity Business School, Noida organized a concluding ceremony for the class of 2016-2018. The occasion was marked by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal's, Dean - FMS and Director - Amity Business School, speech.

He along with other faculty members congratulated the students on completing two successful and enriching years with ABS. He inspired the students by his galvanizing words of wisdom and gave them confidence that Amity's doors will always be open for them. His words not only motivated them for their corporate life but also for their personal growth and how having belief in oneself can steer their career to success.

The 3rd Global Leadership Research Conference was organized on 14th –15th March, 2018 by Amity Business School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida with an objective to inculcate and promote research in the field of management and provide a platform for interaction between Academia and Industry. The theme of the conference “Transformation in Emerging Markets: Dimensions of Growth, Competitiveness and Governance”.

3rd – Global Leadership Research Conference

The conference comprised of the presentation of high quality research papers in four important management tracks viz. Marketing and International Business, Finance, Human Resource and General Management.

The Guest of Honour for the inaugural session was Sir (Dr.) Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Founder, Wockhardt Foundation. The keynote addresses was delivered by Dr. Jibitesh Rath, GM-HRD,NMDC; Sh. Shailender Kumar, CEO, Oracle India; Sh. Mahesh Munjal, CMD, Majestic Auto Ltd; Sh. Surya AV, CEO – South Asia, Kantar Public; Mr. Bhaskar Ranjan Das, Head of South Asia, CIMA; Mr. Atul Bhola, Sr. Vice President, SAIJA; Dr. Gautam Mukherjee, Co-Founder & CEO, Sportify Sports.

The session was graced by the presence of Tejasvini Singh, Mrs. India 2018. The Inaugural session was concluded after the vote of thanks by Mr. Vinamra Jain, Member Secretary Global Leadership Research Conference -2018.

The Guest of Honour Dr. Mustafa T. Sasa, Chairman, Raj Group of Companies gave the Key Note Address on the themes of the conference. The other distinguished key note speakers for the valedictory session were Mr. Rajan S. Mathew, DG-COAI; Mr. Ajay Lalwani, Country Manager, CIMA; Mr. Alok. Vijayant, GP Director (ADM & Trg), Center for Training and Talent Development, NTRO, PMO; Mr. Arun Malhotra, Sr. Corporate Advisor, Nissan Group of Companies and Mr. Dinesh Chandra Arora, Secretary, ICSI. These distinguished speakers were also graced and decorated by the mementos of GLRC.

During the two day Global Leadership Research Conference panel discussions and presentation of quality research papers were made in four areas: Marketing and International Business; Finance; Human Resource and General Management spread over 3 sessions on 14th –15th March, 2018 held at four different venues. All the sessions were chaired and coordinated by eminent researchers and senior members from Academia and Industry respectively.

This was followed by showcasing the glimpses of Amity Human Values Activities by the student team under the guidance of Dr. Garima Malik. This was followed by an experience sharing session by an alumnus from Amity Business School and the announcement of GLRC for the academic year 2019-20. The Valedictory Session was wrapped with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Kritika Das Gupta, General Manager and Head Corporate Resource Center, Amity Business School. The 3rd Global Leadership Research Conference formally moved towards its closure for 2018 by a cultural show organized by the students of the Amity Business School.

• Smooth conduct of Odd and Even Semester Supplementary Examinations June-July 2018 commenced from June 26, 2018 to July 31, 2018 in which total number of student appeared were 2141 in 138 numbers of courses.

• Smooth conduct of Ph.D Examinations of AUUP in which 481 students appeared in 89 courses examinations.
