What is a Community Governance Review? This is a review of parishes and other arrangements by which communities can be represented and through which they can engage. The main aims of a review are to secure future arrangements that: Reflect the identities and interests of the communities in the area; and Are effective and convenient Who has a say? The review started on 1 July 2016 and concluded on 27 June 2017. In that time electors in the area under review as well as bodies such as the current parish council that have an interest in the Review have been able to have their say. The Borough Council wanted to hear what you think should be represented in future parish and other arrangements. When can I have my say? The views expressed during the review are available via the contact details below. If you have any views on the final recommendations they should be submitted using the same details. So what will it mean for me? The final recommendations can be summarised below: • That the name of Clapham Parish remains unchanged. • That the number of Parish Councillors on Clapham Parish remains as at present 15. • That the common boundary of Clapham Parish with Brickhill Parish be adjusted to accommodate a transfer of responsibility to Brickhill Parish for the area defined in the submitted plan (encompassing the road into Woodlands Park and the site of St Thomas More School) which are both currently in Clapham Parish. • That no Parish Wards are established in Clapham Parish. • That the currently unparished area of Clapham Borough Ward remains unparished. You are urged to look at the final recommendations rather than the summary above. The final recommendations will be submitted to Full Council on 12 July 2017 and, if approved, an Order will be made to bring the recommendations into effect on 1 April 2019. Where do I find out more? • That the boundary of the Parish is amended to exclude the relevant identifiedproperties in Maple Place, Bedford (No’s 1 to 4) and include the area of land identifiedas NF1 on the map shown.

• That the Parish Wards of Brickhill are retained with their existing internal boundariesamended only to include the area of land identified as NF1 on the map shown (included within Woodlands Park Parish Ward), and the number of councillors for each Parish Ward remains as at present (East (4), North (4), South & West (5) and Woodlands Park (2)).

You are urged to look at the final recommendations rather than the summary above.
