May 2020

I hope you are well and taking care of yourselves, your families and neighbors. I’d like to start by thanking our doctors, nurses, first responders, food service staff and other essential workers and volunteers for everything they do to keep our communities safe and healthy.

While the world around us has changed greatly, our commitment to our communities has not. Now more than ever, it’s important to continue to support each other, our communities and our charity partners.

In 2019, the value of all our philanthropic efforts was more than $2.3 million in total community impact to the neighborhoods where we live and work. CNO, our associates and agents donated $2.1 million to local organizations, and our associates and agents raised more than $212,000 through their participation in community fundraising. More than 1,200 associates volunteered 10,400 hours to community service projects in 2019.

Highlights from our 2019 community events include:

• Our fourth year as title sponsor of the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, one of the 15 largest marathons in the U.S. It was inspiring to see more than 300 CNO associates, family members and friends who ran or volunteered during race weekend, joining with over 16,000 overall race finishers.

• CNO and Bankers Life hosted our 17th annual Forget Me Not Days® fundraising campaign in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. The campaign raised $190,000 through public donations and associate and agent contributions. Additionally, CNO and Bankers Life recognized the Alzheimer’s Association with a $179,000 corporate donation to support its national mission of eliminating Alzheimer’s disease.

• During the Washington National Comfort Care Kit event, hundreds of associates assembled more than 400 kits for patients receiving chemotherapy treatment at American Cancer Society Hope Lodges and affiliated treatment centers.
