Dear ResidentsThroughout the summer, staff members, trustees and I have been talking about books and buildings. In fact, for more than 50 years we have been serving you from 55 Vanderbilt Parkway.

Have you attended a public meeting? Did you hear it will have about 50% more public space than the existing library? What features or services are most important to you?

Do you read digital books or hardcover books? According to many surveys, most readers like both formats. Your library gives you access to millions of books in-house and online.

Perhaps you attend library workshops/classes or you belong to a club/community group that meets at the library. Preliminary building draw-ings add nine meeting rooms.

Our cars are our constant companions. We know we need more parking. We are working with site engineers to add as many spots as our 2.7-acre property permits.

Are you curious to see what the architect is envisioning for us? Attend a public meeting or stop by during my office hours. Check our website for updated information. Your ideas, wishes and dreams are so important.
