Botus Fleming - Parish Council
Email from Community Link Officer:
Hello
Following our emails below, I contacted the parishes who have yet to reply and have received a reply
from three:
• Maker with Rame PC considered this at its meeting on 11th July and decided on no change.
• Botus Fleming PC had submitted a no change response in January and there is no change to
that.
• St Germans PC had submitted a no change response in January and there is no change to that.
Both Botus Fleming and Maker with Rame PC’s stated that as they had submitted in January and as
their position hadn’t changed they hadn’t appreciated that they needed to submit again.
All of them asked me to let you know their position – I did try to get them to complete a form but they
are not interested in this issue, so feel they have done enough.
As soon as I hear anything further for the remaining parishes I will let you know.
Kind regards

have already provided to Cornwall Council. Please explain why you consider that the submission you are making will ensure that community governance within the area will reflect the identities and interests of the community and will be effective and convenient. Millbrook, although nestled between its neighbouring Rame Peninsula Parishes, is unique in many ways and as such, faces many unique challenges. For example, Millbrook Parish Council owns / manages 3 car parks, a lake, a football club, public conveniences, a play park, a skate park, playing fields, a burial ground, the village hall, a lime kiln and more, making it more akin to a Town Council. The population is much greater than that of our neighbouring parishes – over 2000 people. The percentage of second / holiday homes is far less (believed to be less than 5%) than in say Maker with Rame – ~66%. It is a working village with many more facilities than neighbouring parishes: doctor’s surgery, (outreach) post office, supermarket, convenience store, newsagents, 3 pubs, 4 cafes, 2 hairdressers etc. Millbrook’s demographic is different – Millbrook Parish Council recently declared a Climate Emergency, where Maker with Rame considered it but voted against it. We face different challenges in terms of crime e.g. drugs, anti-social behaviour. And much more. In other words, whilst looking on a map it may appear that all of these ‘little’ parishes on the Rame Peninsula are the same, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. As such, Millbrook Parish Council proposes no change. (please attach additional pages as required)
