494studentslivinginunstablehousingorareingreatneedduringthethemonthofOctober.Ourgoalthisyearistohave1,000K-5studentsatallBSDschoolsreceivenewclothingbythe3rdweekofDecember.WhenstudentsgotoAssistanceLeagueforthereappointmenttoshopatOperationSchoolBell,theyreceiveawintercoat,2pairsofpants,2shirts,5-packofunderwear,6pairsofsocks,ashoevouchertoPaylessShoesfor$22,adentalkitandafreebook.ThisfallAssistanceLeaguepre-packednewclothingandcoatsfor72HeadStartstudentsanddeliveredthemtotheschoolswherewehavethoseprogramsinplace.BSDmiddleschoolandhighschoolstudentswillstartOperationSchoolBellinJanuary.TheywillshopatFredMeyerfornewclothingwithagiftcardprovidedbyAssistanceLeague.Thegoalistoclothe800MS/HSstudentsthroughthisprogram.Itisestimatedthateachstudentreceivesnewclothingvaluedat$125each.BSDwillhaveover2,000studentsreceivenewclothingbytheendofthe2016-17season.OurdistrictissoluckytohavesuchawonderfulorganizationasAssistanceLeaguehelpingtotakecareofourstudents!
