Welcome to Community Programs!
Looking for a way to make those New Year’s resolutions come true? Maybe you’ve decided this is the year you’re going to quit smoking or reach that goal of at least 30-minutes of exercise per day. Or are you determined to improve your money habits, embark on a new career, or maybe just put that new (or old) art set to use? Whether you are looking to enrich your personal or professional life, Community Programs is here to help you achieve your goals. Our offerings are short term, not-for-credit, and are designed to fit into your busy schedules. We are a self-supporting branch of the college and are not funded by taxpayer dollars. Browse this brochure and we are certain you will find an offering that will inspire you to invest in yourself and your future.
We hope to see you on campus this spring,
The Community Programs Team

Featured Instructors: Coaches Kaori Peters (Master Marlins) and Lily Barnard (Gnarly Gnarwhals)
Kaori Peters is a triathlon and swim coach who is excited to share the pool with you! Athletes of all skill levels find her class fun, challenging and non-judgmental. Having coached swimmers for over a decade, Kaori is an adventure sports photographer, event producer, and lover of the Central Coast. Master Marlins Swimming will provide a safe, positive, and respectful swim environment, while offering a training
structure tailored to each participant’s individual needs. Swimmers will have fun while developing stroke efficiency, speed, and aerobic/anaerobic capacity.
Lily Barnard is the head coach of the Gnarly Gnarwhals youth swim team. She recently moved back to the Central Coast from the Bay Area after coaching swimming and teaching yoga for the past five years. As a competitive swimmer for most of her life, Lily has spent many years working in Aquatics and has had a love for swimming since childhood. Her hope is to spread this life-long passion for the sport to our next
generation of young swimmers with a focus on creating a balance between learning efficient techniques and finding a love for the water while improving one’s own swimming ability.
Masters and Gnarwhals practice weekly at the same times. Check out page 9 for more information!
