Career Pathways 

At this  level support workers and case workers  may  provide  day‐to‐day support  in  community  se ngs  and/or provide  assistance  with  en tlements and benefits under the broad direc on of  others.    Emo onal  and  prac cal support may be provided  face  to  face or  over  the  telephone  to  assist  the client  and  enable  an  accurate  referral to be achieved.  Occupa onal  tles may include: 

Community  care worker,    Indigenous your  worker,  intake  and  referral worker,  youth  worker,  juvenile jus ce community worker, etc.  

Program Dura on and Schedule 

This  is  a  six  (6)  month  mixed‐mode delivery  program  which  consists  of face‐to‐face classwork as well as online learning  using  Moodle  training pla orm.   Par cipants are also required to spend at least an addi onal fi een (15) hours of  their  own  me  comple ng assessment  ac vi es  a er  the conclusion of each topic.  Assessments must  be  submi ed  the  stated submission date.  

 Abstudy The  program  meets  the  criteria  for               ABSTUDY as a full  me course 

Course Descrip on This  qualifica on  applies  to  community  work  delivered  through  a broad  range  of  services  which  provide  support  to  individuals  and groups.   This course  is for people who want to work  in organisations that support the Indigenous community services industry.    Learners will develop  the  skills  required  to have direct  contact with clients,  identify  their  presenting  needs  and  refer  clients  to appropriate services and support.
