MBW is not a copyist – we do not duplicate designs developed by others. MBW begins each new engineering project with the assumption that significant progress can be made in terms of improved productivity, reduced maintenance, longer life, enhanced user safety or lower long-term cost of ownership. Often, MBW’s R&D efforts result in entirely fresh approaches to solving industry problems. Many of our products have pushed the productivity envelope to new heights. Most MBW products solve long standing maintenance issues and extend product life expectations. Our goal is to provide equipment users with products of significant, tangible, comparative value... reasons to invest in MBW products.

MBW rammers feature the industry’s only percussion system completely free of high friction/heat/wear metal-on-metal reciprocating wear surfaces. The patented design features c-shaped, non metallic, slide bearings between spring separator and spring box, ram shaft and spring box, and spring box and guide tube. Wear characteristics of the MBW bearings are several times better than traditional steel-on-cast iron designs. Lower operating friction/heat provide positive implications for engine, lubricant and bellows life. In the event percussion system lubricant is lost, MBW percussion systems are designed to fail a single slide bearing, locking up the system and preventing damage to other bearing surfaces, as well as bearings and seals in the rammer’s gearbox. Because MBW percussion systems generate less internal friction, rammers operate more efficiently, consume less fuel, and deliver more compaction force for the purpose intended. When replacement is eventually called for, MBW slide bearings are replaced at low cost, returning percussion systems to original specification.
Endurance testing of the new design exceeded even MBW’s expectations. As a result, MBW gas powered rammers now provide a 5 YEAR WARRANTY on percussion system slide bearings and bellows.

The GPR 65, 68 and 77 are compact reversible plates ideal for narrow trenches and confined areas.
HEAVY DUTY SHIFTINGThe heavy duty mechanical shifting mechanism allows for directional changes at full speed. Endurance testing was terminated at 400,000 shifts without system failure – the best result MBW (and very likely any manufacturer) has ever achieved on a reversible plate shifting design.
The GPR65 and GPR68 are also high production plates. Travel speeds to 92 ft/min are achieved with good
compaction conditions and the plates move with ease over irregular lift
surfaces. Head-to-head competitive demons t r a t i on q u i c k l y establishes the comparat ive benefits of the GPR65 and
GPR68.

Patented design allows for exchange of lower hydraulic shift seal in approximately 30 minutes versus up to 6 hours in competitive designs
Only reversible plate line Made in the USA
MBW’s hydraulic shifting reversible plates solve maintenance problems that have long plagued this product type. MBW exciter systems are vented to prevent damage to shifting seals. Worn shifting seals are readily serviced from the outside of the exciter assembly (patented), eliminating the complicated process of opening and exposing the exciter assembly for service purposes. Maintenance is simplified, service time is reduced dramatically.
All MBW hydraulic reversibles are easy to maneuver, featuring forward and reverse travel, as well as spot compaction. Powered by either Honda gas engines or Hatz diesels, these reversibles have plenty of power to tackle the toughest compaction applications.
MBW advises users to carefully consider which type of compactor best fits the job. If there is sufficient room to maneuver a single direction plate, productivity, cost and maintenance favor the single direction unit. But where maneuverability is key, reversible plates are the answer.

ENTSIn 2002 MBW discontinued production of walk-behind rollers … our focus shifted to roller attachments for skid-loaders, backhoes and excavators. Our reasoning was straight forward …
P R O D U C T I V I T YIn geo-technical terms, walk-behind rollers are inefficient compactors due to low machine mass. By coupling a vibratory roller with a much heavier host machine, mass is dramatically improved. Moreover, the operating or cycle speed of host machines is faster than self-contained walk-behind rollers. The combined effect of higher mass and faster working speed is a dramatic gain in productivity.
V E R S A T I L I T YMBW’s broad line of compaction attachments covers the full range of soil types and applications. Our static wheels are ideal for cohesive soils and can be converted to vibratory mode if called for. Our heavy duty UVW models features interchangeable 24 and 36 inch padded wheels. Static and vibratory wheels mount via pins or quick connect coupler.
O P E R A T O R S A F E T YOperators run compaction attachments from the protected cab of the host machine and stay out of trenches.
M A I N T E N A N C E / L I F EMBW’s range of compaction attachments are covered by multiple US and international patents. Our patents focus on technical innovations designed to keep these compactors running reliably over their useful life.
C O S TMBW attachments cost substantially less than trench and walk-behind rollers. But the cost analysis only begins there. Productivity is as much as 10 times higher than walk-behind rollers. Maintenance cost are lower. The full cost analysis emphatically recommends compaction attachments... which is why we discontinued our walk-behind and trench rollers in 2002.

ENTSMBW STATIC C O M P A C T I O N WHEELS are built to standards suitable for vibratory compactors. That means heavier bearings (to 1,100,000 lbs. static load), heavier shafts (to 710,000 lbs. shear strength) with a correspondingly heavy frame that supports the wheel at both ends to minimize frame and shaft deformation. Our static compaction wheels are heavily built because they can be converted to vibratory wheels when need arises.
V I B R A T O R Y W H E E L S - W 2 4 & W 3 6 MBW pioneered the industry’s first boom-mounted vibratory compaction wheels in the late 1990s. We now have a whole new generation of vibratory compaction wheels. These new wheels feature a redesigned frame that supports the wheel or drum at both ends to reduce stress concentrations, an improved suspension system that protects isolators from damage due to over deflection and exciter operating temperatures that have been significantly lowered.
** Centrifugal Force is not a measure of compaction performance.( ) Metric Measurements. Specifications subject to change without notice.
S K I D S T E E R R O L L E R A T T A C H M E N T SATS (smooth drum) and ATP (padded drum) models are available in 73 and 84 inch working widths. All models feature hydraulically powered exciter systems lubricated by an oil mist design. All models minimize exciter shaft deflection, lower operating temperatures, and provide MBW attachments with the industry’s lowest incidence of bearing and seal failure. A knockdown blade is integral to the roller frame. Vibrating drums are isolated from the frame minimizing transmission of vibration to the host machine. All models come with a universal quick attach system.
MBW compaction attachments for skid-steer loaders offer contractors and rental yards a cost effective, low maintenance alternative to comparatively high cost self-contained rollers.

STo function properly, power trowels must maintain a precise perpendicular relationship between the gearbox’s output shaft and blade arms. Once that relationship is compromised, the trowel will vibrate and/or wobble. MBW has gone to great lengths to maintain this critical relationship.
MBW WALK-BEHIND POWER TROWELS feature the industry’s heaviest bearings, output shafts, gears, spiders and blade arms. Comparison of these critical MBW components to those of any competitor answers the question as to why MBW trowels run so well for so long.

BLITZSCREED® is the state-of-the art in vibratory truss screeds. The Blitzscreed is set-up and cleaned in roughly half the time of other screeds. Mechanical problems common to other designs are eliminated. All bolted construction eliminates weldment failure. MBW’s offset eccentric shaft/bearing design results in far more uniform vibration across the screed and greatly extends bearing life. The quick coupling method of joining section shafts is fast and eliminates failure
of mechanical connectors. Precision machined, cast A-frames handle stresses in all planes and serve as a built-in fixture for maintaining perfect screed alignment throughout the life of the product.
Blitzscreed sections come in 8’ 4”, 4’ 4” and 2’ 4” lengths and can be combined to produce screeds up to 75 feet (screeds in 25 to 40 foot range most common).
Blitzscreed is available in engine driven or pneumatic models with hand and auto winch options.
MBW POWER WINCHES enhance safe operation with a top mounted engagement lever for instant activation and deactivation. Travel speed is easily adjusted through a simple valve control. The units also have an adjustable relief valve that stops the winches in case of an obstruction. Each end operates independently for maximum maneuverability around columns and other obstacles.

When MBW develops a new product, we look for deficiencies in products already in the marketplace. Portable wet screeds suffered 4 serious shortcomings:
M E C H A N I C A LWet screeds were prone to high maintenance, especially in drive mechanisms between the engine and exciter. The ScreeDemon employs a simple, durable, low cost rubber isolator to drive the eccentric.
F U N C T I O N A LMost screed and screed bar combinations produce irregular vibration along the length of the screed bar. Not only is the concrete exposed to highly variable levels of vibration but cream levels vary from spot to spot along the screed bar. The back-to-back triangular construction of the ScreeDemon bar is extremely rigid and minimizes variability in the transmission of vibration.
Most screeds bolt to their screed bars. Hardware threads are compromised by the concrete and assembling or removing the screed becomes such a problem that crews often don’t disassemble for cleaning or transport. The ScreeDemon simply clamps to the specially designed bar. No holes to weaken the screed bar. No threads to complicate assembly/disassembly. The ScreeDemon goes together and comes apart in seconds.
O P E R A T O R H E A L T H & S A F E T YAll wet screeds tested by MBW exposed operators to excessive hand/arm vibration. The ScreeDemon’s patented mount retention method enables use of low durometer isolators without loss of operator control. Hand/arm vibration is 50 to 90% lower than competitive screeds.

Often viewed as a commodity, lower production cost is usually seen as the over-riding goal in mortar mixer manufacturing. It shows – overall mortar mixer quality and life have been deteriorating for the last 30 years.
MBW has chosen the less traveled, higher ground; we have not sacrificed mixer quality. You may pay a little more for a MBW MORTAR MIXER, but the returns in lower maintenance and longer life are worth consideration.
We’re so confident in the superiority of MBW’s mixers that we simply encourage you to take a look and draw your own conclusions. Here’s a short list of things to compare: paddle shaft and clamping design, bearing capacity, trunnion and pillow block quality, frame strength, drive gears, belt tension mechanism, drum latch/lock system, drum and grid weldments, engine shroud, front leg design, material types and gauge throughout the mixer.
Includes new standard reversible hitch with both pintle and 2” ball.

The MBW PAVER slip forms curb, curb & gutter and similar profiles with a level of quality that rivals larger pavers. In commercial parking lots and other applications with tight radii, the MBW Paver out performs larger machines. Cost savings associated with use of the MBW Paver are significant and ongoing. Purchase cost is a fraction of large pavers. Transport

The MBW Paver bridges the gap between hand forming curbs and slip forming with large machines. Three models are available. The two wheel drive C101 pours to a 12” width, 18” height. The two wheel drive C101-18 pours to a 18” width, 18” height.
The three wheel drive CG200 slip forms profiles within a 48” wide by 18” high parameter. Given a reasonable level of variable control the MBW paver pours a 3’ radii with ease.
While production rates vary and are dependent on mix, grade, and crew proficiency, 1000 to 1500 feet of curb and gutter would represent a typical day’s pour. In the tack-on curb over pavement application, the MBW Paver has the potential to slipform up to 5000 ft/day.

2000 MBW UK Ltd is doing very well not only in the UK but in several international markets. The US rental industry has begun a process of massive consolidation and the USA is entering a period of recession.
2001-02 MBW hires Independent Representatives to augment MBW’s sales force. We add roughly 300 smaller dealers in the following five years.
2003-07 MBW continues to add distribution and is setting new sales records. We form a new Utility Division for products like the Airammer, Soil Pick and Soil Com-paction Supervisor. MBW signs an exclusive US market-ing agreement with Barikell, an Italian manufacturer of riding trowels.
2008-10 By 2008, the recession forces MBW, like all con-struction industry manufacturers, to conserve resources.
2011-14 Sales begin to recover. Distribution gradually expands. MBW has introduced a second generation of boom-mounted rollers, wider drums for skid-steer roll-ers, the Vapor Extraction Unit for our Utility Division, the ScreeDemon, an economy line of single direction plates and sprayers for concrete curing compounds.
2015-16 We introduce the Ergo-Tamp. Our large revers-ible plates line and walk-behind trowels are being redesigned. MBW UK Ltd is renamed MBW EUROPE LTD.
2017 MBW’s 50th year! We have two new employees covering the Western and South Central states where we need to expand distri-bution. In 2017 the marketplace
is very different than it was in 1967. Most notably, the majority of our competition is now made in low cost countries like S. Korea, Malaysia, China, Mexico. But MBW’s products remain innovative and high quality. Our deliveries and after sales service are exceptional. And we remain a company that is easy and profitable to do business with.
MBW now operates out of a 96,000 sq.ft. facility in Slinger, WI. MBW EUROPE LTD operates out of a 16,000 sq.ft. facility in Bolton, England. We have approximate-ly 1200 dealers. The product line now encompasses over 70 products. Of course, people make a company successful. Over the past 50 years MBW has been blessed with talented, well grounded people and they have all, in their own way, had a role in MBW’s success.
