“Poor people management is hitting the efficiency of UK businesses by an average of eight per cent, costing UK PLC £84bn a year” Investors in People

“Britain has experienced a “lost decade” of productivity growth, the main driver of long term economic growth and higher living standards, since the 2008 crisis” – Financial Times

Common issues our customers face

➢ Lack of skilled workforce limiting companies growth capabilities

➢ Productivity below required level for business security

➢ Workforce resistant to change. “We’ve always done it this way” and “Why do we need to change?”

➢ Staff feeling voiceless and as though their ideas would not be valued by management, lack of engagement means staff don’t feel empowered to identify and communicate potential improvements

➢ Team Leaders/Supervisors/Managers promoted due to being technically good, without sufficient training to provide them with the tools required to effectively manage people and processes

Management training - Why train our managers?

- The majority of managers are promoted due to being good at their job without being given sufficient training in the skills required to manage….“The best sports players rarely become the best sports managers.”

- Only a third (37%) of UK businesses are very confident about the long-term supply of leaders and managers in their organisation (Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), 2018)

- Poor people management costs the UK £84bn per annum in efficiency losses (Investors in People, 2016)

- Poor people management is the key cause of the UKs significant productivity gap with its G7 competitors (Organisation for Economic Co-operations and Development (OECD), 2016)

- In 2016 Chancellor Phillip Hammond earmarked £13million in fundingto support organisations to improve management skills due to poor UK productivity

“We are thrilled with the impact of this training programme in Energy Awareness. It helps provide the

“The High Performance Management Programme is helping our senior managers obtain an executive

development programme which supports our business objectives by providing relevant management training, coaching, mentoring and assessment in the workplace.

The key differences in Leadership versus Management and identifying how we can apply them within the business is a

key learning for all participants. The reflective thinking and self-assessments carried out thus far have also proven beneficial as our self-awareness is improving all the time.

The assignments allocated to underpin the course is business relative and fits with our on-going development

as a business and as individuals.”Lee Taylor, Training Manager

‘In a highly competitive market we need to be proactive in improving efficiency and quality, the Business Improvement Techniques course from Track Training enabled me to develop the whole site, our trainer delivered an excellent program and really supported our staff through the course. The impact has been fantastic with a real focus on how important the need for continuous improvement is in maintaining success. Thank you Track Training’ Neil McFarlane, General ManagerTant Labs (Part of the Lenstec Group)

“Track Trainings specialist Lean programmes have made an impact on our staff and the NHS Shared Services – particularly

in planning and executing our move to new offices. It has given staff teams across the regions of Wales access to a new Lean skills-set with common goals and tailored to the NHS needs –

focused on practical business improvement techniques to apply in their everyday work. I was particularly impressed with the

amount of projects tackled and mentoring provided to achieve continuous improvement. Due to NHS budget constraints,

without the funding from Track this training would not have taken place and our organisation would not be in as strong a

position as it is today.”Sharon Jones, Training Manager Wales, NHS Shared Services

“We are extremely happy with Track Training’s on-going commitment to delivery, embedding learning and achieving a positive impact on business result. I would not hesitate to recommend Track Training to any organisation looking to improve their operational performance and increase profitability.” Jonathon Jones, Plant ManagerKautex Textron CVS
