FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighter II – EMT – Salary Range: $33,488 ‐ $50,232 (Depending on Qualifications & Certifications)

Handle a variety of duties related to fire suppression, fire prevention, and emergency medical services. Inspect

commercial structures to prevent fires. Attend training associated with modern day fire service delivery. Respond

to a variety of emergencies to reduce the loss of life and property. Develop business pre‐fire plans to become

familiar with structures. Demonstrate fire safety and emergency practices to the community. Must be 18 years of

age, a U.S. citizen, and possess a high school diploma or GED plus six months to one year of advanced study or

training in firefighting and basic life support. IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter II certification meeting NFPA Firefighter

II standards are required. South Carolina or National Registry EMT‐Basic or higher certification is desired. As part of
