DefenseThanks to a long experience in sensors integration and in the development of systems able of repre-senting the operative scenario, today A.ST.I.M. designs and develops surveillance and defense systems for military installations, command and control systems and mission systems for special or armored vehicles, helicopters, surveillance airplanes, drones, combat boats, SAR/Patrol vessels, landing boats, amphibious vehicles, unmanned boats , vehicles for VIP protection, emergency vehicles and for the management of major emergencies.

It is 2008 when A.ST.I.M. develops THERMONAV®, for the time an innovative net-centric command and con-trol system fully modular, scalable and digitized, able to manage in real-time sensors and systems able to cover the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from mi-crowaves up to the detection of radioactive isotopes, therefor for the contrast to CBRN threats (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear).

The success of THERMONAV® has allowed over time to add to a base structure some specific mission software modules, each of those use specific sensors and sub-systems, to provide to the operator all necessary tools to complete his operational mission. The specific architecture of THER-MONAV® has been thought by A.ST.I.M. for applications in very different markets between them, all with a common denominator: the need of solutions with high operational performance.

Today THERMONAV® is a technological buster inside many of A.ST.I.M. products, among which Sea-Guardian TMS - Tactical Mission System, the SeaGuardian EOSS and EOTS (Electro-Optical Surveil-lance or Targeting System) product line, DEVS solutions (Driver’s Enhanced Vision System) for the management of major emergencies such as the airport emergencies and many more.

With over 300 THERMONAV® certifications issued to both military and civilian operators, A.ST.I.M. is committed to maintaining high levels of efficiency of his systems and to ensure high operational performance. To succeed in this, A.ST.I.M. has developed a training program consisting of three different levels of certification, for technical operational staff and for technical maintenance staff. In order to train personnel able to teach the use of its systems, A.ST.I.M. also provides a number of additional courses divided into five different levels.

A.ST.I.M. works in first position for environments protection and respect this is why years ago, has adopted an environmental management system that meets all international ISO 14001: 2004 standards. Every phase of its activity observes scrupu-lously criteria aimed to preserve the planet’s resources in order to have a true sustainable development.

In terms of quality, the company has made its own procedures guided by the ISO 9001: 2008, in par-ticular way for research and development, design, manufacture, maintenance and repair activities in relation to: computer systems, telecommunications systems, software applications and integrated systems for civil, industrial, naval, airport and military application; and in high technology integrated systems production for land, naval and aviation defense; civil and military control systems; track-ing systems and emergency management for civil, military and prompt intervention application, as well as their subsystems, equipment, and devices as a direct installer or as a general contractor of the above mentioned systems, including all needed accessory operations; education and training on all systems and products; and trade applied to the activities mentioned above; management of general contracting activities for public procurement works and services.

In order to ensure a highest technical level to all its customers and to complete its offer dealing, when required, also the installation of the systems supplied, the company has begun a few years trail that led to the achievement of SOA certifications, in OS19, OS5 and OS30 categories (related to telecommunication network systems and data transmission, pneumatic, anti-intrusion and radio-telephonic, televisual, electric and telephonic internal equipment).

Certification

A.ST.I.M. is currently engaged to draw up an ethics code to define values that the company recog-nizes, accepts and shares at all levels of his business process.
