Gulf Gypsum Products is the sister Organization of Al Mansour Global Enterprises.

Al Mansour Global Enterprises “AMGE”, is a prominent private company in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman. Is owned by our GGP Chairman. AMGE is one among the private company in the Sultanate of Oman, modeled for construction, real-estate and other related activities. AMGE has obtained License for Gypsum Quarry / Mining Business from Ministry of Commerce and Industries ( Ministry of commerce and industries are the competent authority to Manage the country’s mining activities according to the Mining Law and issues mining licenses, resolves mining sector disputes and protects the environment).

Product Description of Stage I :

Gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O) is a naturally occurring mineral mined from deposits formed by ancient sea beds as a raw

material, white when pure, but commonly grey, yellow, red or brown, owing to impurities. The anhydrous form

(CaSO4), anhydrite, is common.

Applications:

Gypsum has many industrial applications in its raw / calcined forms, especially in the building and construction industries.

Uses of Raw Gypsum are principally:

As retarder for Portland cement, As fertilizer or soil conditioner, As a mineral filler oxidizing agent in glass manufacture or

other industrial applications.

Most gypsum is calcined and used in the manufacturing of plaster products. Wallboard and plaster requires gypsum

contents greater than 85%, although producers prefer a minimum of 94–95% along with whiteness in color. The major

consumers of the Gypsum at present are Cement Industry. By weight about 4% to 6% Gypsum in crushed condition is

utilized in Portland Cement Manufacture after mixing with cement/clinker. Gypsum acts as a retarder and controls the

setting time of cement.

Natural Gypsum is one of the most superior qualities and consistent material available for Local and Export markets. Natural

Gypsum has adequate whiteness, high purity as well as it is low in cost which makes it absolutely feasible for white cements

as well as Plaster Of Paris manufacturing and for the Cement Industry all together. One more important quality that

distinguishes Natural Gypsum from others is its hardness which is less as compared to other sources and allows different

industries to easily grind the same for processing into final product which in turn results in to reduced power consumption

for manufacturing industries.

Product Description On Calcination Stage - II:

Manufacturing Process and Source of Technology:

Gypsum is the basic raw material required to manufacture Plaster of Paris. These are crushed from the mines and then pulverized, Gypsum powders are calcined in a rotary drum/vertical calcinatory system using natural gas as fuel. The low pressure burner is sufficient to reach the calcinations temp. Ranges from 1600C to 1800C. The process of calcinations is done over a period of about 2 hours, so that 11/2 molecule of water is removed to obtain the required properties. After cooling the calcined powder is passed through 100/150/200 mesh depends on the buyer requirements and packed in 25 kg / 30 kg airtight polythene lined gunny bags.

Presumption:

The proposed project envisaged to manufacture 600 MT per day. The unit will run on 24 hours basis per day and 300 working days per year.

Applications of the Product:

Plaster of Paris which is calcium sulphate with half molecule of water of Crystallization ( CaSo4.1/2 H2 o) and hygroscopic characteristics obtained by duly Calcined the raw material i.e. Gypsum ( Caso4 2H2o). It possesses outstanding property of setting and subsequent hardening when mixed with water. Plaster of Paris is extensively used in ceramic industry for preparation models and Molds. It is also used as main raw material in the manufacture of toys & statues, Chalk crayons, gypsum plaster boards, and decorative picture frames besides wide range of applications in the interior decoration of buildings and other establishment.

Market & Demand Aspects: As there is growing building construction activity thus requiring large quantities of Plaster of Paris. Demand for the product is also increasing in making mold & Models. There is also huge demand for the plaster of Paris arising from a large number of studies and establishments engaged in making statutes and interior decoration as well as decorative plaster boards for false ceiling etc., which has created a good scope for setting up new units in this line of manufacture.

Production Volume: In Gypsum Powder Production Line 180,000 metric tons of gypsum powder / Stucco are produced annually based on the

plant capacity. As per current scenario there is good scope for supplying stucco in Oman, GCC and also other countries

like India , Nepal , Srilanka , Africa , Bangladesh, Pakistan and etc.
